Furgoneta eléctrica Kia PV7 captada en pruebas en carretera: llegará al mercado en 2027 y superará ampliamente a la PV5 en dimensiones

The new Kia PV7 electric van has been spotted on the streets of South Korea, generating considerable interest. As the second mass-produced model based on Kia 's PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) platform , the PV7 will be officially launched in 2027 and will be positioned as a fully electric, multi-purpose commercial van, larger than the current PV5.

The latest road test video reveals the PV7's imposing body: its wheelbase nearly spans the entire width of a deceleration zone, and when parked on a carrier platform, it even dwarfs the truck transporting it. According to the footage, the vehicle is not only significantly longer but also wider, which will substantially increase the interior space available for cargo and passengers. As for the exterior design, the PV7 appears to incorporate two charging ports: one at the front, following the layout of the PV5, and another possibly concealed near the rear passenger door.

Taking the PV7 Concept prototype presented at CES 2024 as a reference, its dimensions are 5270 mm long, 2065 mm wide, and 2120 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3390 mm; while the current PV5 Passenger measures 4695 mm × 2895 mm × 1915 mm, with a wheelbase of 2995 mm—confirming a notable increase in both length and wheelbase. Regarding the smart cockpit system, for now, only rumors are circulating about the possible integration of the Pleos software and the Hyundai group's infotainment system , without official confirmation.

According to the established plans, Kia will launch the even larger PV9 in 2029 and aims to reach, by 2030, a cumulative sales volume of 232,000 units of the PBV series.
