The all-new Kia electric van PV7 has been spotted on streets in South Korea, drawing widespread attention. As the second production model built on Kia's PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) architecture, the PV7 is scheduled to launch in 2027 and will be positioned as a larger, fully electric commercial and multi-purpose van compared to the current PV5.
Recent road-test footage reveals the PV7's imposing size — its track width nearly spans an entire speed bump, and when parked on a car carrier, it makes the transporting truck appear unusually compact. Visual evidence suggests the vehicle is not only significantly longer but also wider, substantially expanding interior cargo and passenger space. Externally, the PV7 appears to feature dual charging ports: one at the front, consistent with the PV5 layout, and another likely concealed near the rear passenger door.
Referencing the PV7 Concept unveiled at CES 2024, its dimensions are 5270 mm in length, 2065 mm in width, and 2120 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3390 mm; by comparison, the current PV5 Passenger measures 4695 mm × 2895 mm × 1915 mm with a 2995-mm wheelbase — confirming notable increases in both length and wheelbase. Regarding the intelligent cockpit system, rumors suggest it may adopt Pleos software and infotainment solutions from Hyundai Group, though no official confirmation has been issued.
Per Kia's roadmap, the larger PV9 is slated for launch in 2029, with the company targeting cumulative PBV-series sales of 232,000 units by 2030.
