大众ID. Polo入门版上市：37kWh电池起售24995欧元，直击中国电动车竞争

Volkswagen has officially launched pre-sales of the entry-level ID. Polo in the European market, marking an accelerated rollout of its high-performance, cost-effective all-electric strategy targeting urban commuters. Equipped with a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, the vehicle starts at €24,995 (approximately US$29,000) and boasts a WLTP range of 334 kilometers (207 miles). It is a key product for Volkswagen in countering the rapid expansion of Chinese brands like BYD and Chery in the domestic market.

Previously, Volkswagen launched the ID. Polo with a 52 kWh ternary lithium battery at the end of April , starting at €33,795. Just weeks later, the company announced a lower-priced version and fulfilled its promise—pre-orders for the 37 kWh battery version of the ID. Polo Trend have opened in several European countries this month. It is reported that the ID. Polo series has already received over 25,000 orders in its initial launch phase, reflecting the high level of market interest in Volkswagen's electric small cars.

The new car offers three configurations: Trend, Life, and Style. The Trend version is the entry-level version and comes standard with driver assistance functions such as Side Assist blind spot monitoring and Lane Assist lane keeping assist. The Life version adds adaptive cruise control, reversing camera, parking distance control, and forward cross-traffic alert. The top-of-the-line Style version is equipped with IQ.LIGHT matrix LED headlights, 3D taillights, and illuminated VW logos at the front and rear.

Inside, the entire series adopts Volkswagen's new design language, featuring a standard 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch Innovision central control screen, while retaining physical buttons to improve ease of operation. The vehicle's dimensions are 4053×1816×1530 mm, with a wheelbase of 2600 mm, similar to the gasoline-powered Polo, but thanks to the flat battery pack layout, the interior space utilization is significantly improved.

The powertrain offers three output levels: 85 kW (114 hp), 99 kW (133 hp), and 155 kW (208 hp). The 85 kW and 99 kW models are equipped with a 37 kWh LFP battery , while the 155 kW high-performance version features a 52 kWh NMC battery. It has also been revealed that a 166 kW (223 hp) ID. Polo GTI electric hot hatch will be launched this fall. Furthermore, the ID. Polo is one of Volkswagen's first models to include external power supply capability as standard equipment, with a maximum output of 3.6 kW.
