DENZA Z Coupe Debuts at 2026 Chengdu Auto Show, Tri-Motor AWD Hits Sub-2-Second 0–100 km/h

Coupe and Spider variants unveiled; pre-order pricing from ¥680,000 to ¥1,180,000

At the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show, the DENZA Z Coupe made its world debut, while the Spider convertible variant debuted with new color options. This marks a key expansion of the high-performance all-electric sports car family — though final pricing and official delivery timelines remain unannounced, and the vehicle is still in the pre-order phase.

Prior to the show, DENZA Z had already entered pre-order in China, offering three variants: the Coupe, Spider, and Racing editions — with pre-order prices ranging from ¥680,000 to ¥1,180,000. Note that these are indicative pre-order figures; official pricing and full specification sheets have yet to be released.

Design-wise, the DENZA Z embodies the 'Pure Emotion – Flowing Form' Everus philosophy, featuring a low-slung, wide-track sports car stance. Its closed-off front fascia pairs with blade-style LED droplet-shaped headlights; the hood integrates a raised aerodynamic duct for optimized cooling and drag reduction; and dual LiDAR units flank the front bumper — laying hardware groundwork for advanced intelligent driving capabilities. Side profiles feature aerodynamic side skirts and airflow channels, while rear treatments vary by variant: the Coupe features a carbon-fiber roof and an electrically adjustable rear spoiler (with speed-adaptive deployment), the Spider uses a fully automatic soft-top folding mechanism, and the Racing edition mounts a fixed, large-size rear spoiler.

In terms of dimensions, the Spider measures 4780 mm long × 1990 mm wide × 1350 mm tall, with a 2780 mm wheelbase; the Coupe and Racing editions stretch to 4870 mm in length, retaining identical width, height, and wheelbase. The interior emphasizes track-focused DNA, with standard carbon-fiber trim, metal sport pedals, suede headliner, and double-glazed acoustic glass. The steering wheel houses multi-mode shortcut buttons, while the fully digital instrument cluster and floating central touchscreen support dual UI modes — Comfort and Track. In Track mode, real-time data — including motor power output, battery temperature, lateral G-force, and torque distribution — is displayed.

The powertrain leverages the BYD Yi-San-Fang whole-vehicle intelligent control platform, adopting an independent tri-motor AWD layout: one front motor plus two rear motors. System-wide peak output reaches 1180 kW (1605 hp), with peak torque at 1240 N·m. Official figures state 0–100 km/h acceleration times of 2.25 seconds (Coupe), 2.3 seconds (Spider), and 1.96 seconds (Racing), with top speeds of 300 km/h (Coupe/Spider) and 350 km/h (Racing).
