BYD DENZA Z Electric Supercar Unveiled: 1582 hp, 0–100 km/h in Just 1.96 Seconds

Debuted at the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show and recently showcased in the Goodwood Festival of Speed, BYD's premium brand DENZA has officially launched its all-new pure-electric supercar — the DENZA Z. Officially dubbed the "world's first intelligent supercar," its performance specs and pricing strategy have drawn widespread industry attention.

Built on BYD's in-house e3 electric platform, the DENZA Z features a standard triple-motor layout (one front, two rear), delivering a maximum combined output of 1582 hp (1604 PS); peak torque remains undisclosed. The Racing track-spec variant offers optional semi-slick tires and achieves 0–100 km/h in just 1.96 seconds; the Coupe hardtop clocks in at 2.25 seconds, while the Spider convertible hits 2.3 seconds. By comparison, the Porsche 911 Turbo S posts an official 0–100 km/h time of 2.5 seconds.

The DENZA Z packs a 76 kWh Blade Battery 2.0 and adopts an 800V high-voltage architecture, enabling 5-minute fast charging (10%–70%). WLTP range figures stand at 410 km for the Coupe, 400 km for the Spider, and 380 km for the Racing variant. Its dimensions are 4780 × 1990 × 1350 mm, with a 2780 mm wheelbase — slightly larger than the Porsche 911 and comparable to the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe.

Standard across all DENZA Z trims is BYD's proprietary steer-by-wire system and the DiSus-M electromagnetic adaptive suspension, claimed to deliver dynamic responses ranging from obstacle clearance to near "dance-like" agility. The cabin features an 8.8-inch full-digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch central touchscreen running Google OS; audio is theater-grade — the Coupe and Racing variants include 12 speakers, while the Spider features 10.

The DENZA Z is now open for blind pre-orders in China: the Coupe starts at ¥680,000 RMB, the Spider at ¥780,000, and the Racing track edition at ¥1.18 million. UK market launch prices begin at £142,900 (~$192,000), £159,900 (~$215,000), and £172,900 (~$232,000), respectively. Official deliveries are slated to commence by end-2026, with the first DENZA branded retail stores opening this summer.
