NIO ES9 Hits 10,000 Deliveries in Just 30 Days; BaaS Battery Rental Starts at RMB 390,000

William Bin Li Personally Delivers 10,000th Unit; X-Bar Design + 900V High-Voltage Platform Sets New Benchmark

On June 26, NIO officially announced that its flagship full-size SUV—the 2026 NIO ES9—has completed delivery of its 10,000th unit. Since formal deliveries began on May 28, the milestone was achieved in just 30 days, setting a new record for the fastest 10,000-unit delivery among NIO’s vehicles in this segment. William Bin Li, NIO’s founder and CEO, personally attended the handover ceremony to deliver the 10,000th vehicle to its owner.

The NIO ES9 is currently offered in three trims: Luxury, Signature, and Horizon Special Edition. The all-in purchase price ranges from RMB 498,000 to RMB 628,000. With the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) rental option, the vehicle price drops significantly to RMB 390,000–520,000—substantially lowering the entry barrier for buyers.

Design-wise, the ES9 carries forward NIO’s X-Bar design language. Its front fascia features HDPL intelligent high-definition projection headlights powered by MicroLED technology, delivering higher brightness and wider illumination coverage. When ADAS is active, dynamic light carpets are projected onto the road surface—enabling functions such as lane-change alerts, pedestrian highlighting, and low-light path guidance. Newly integrated into the front fenders are ‘SmartSail’ side lighting modules, combining side-facing LiDAR sensors with ADAS status indicators; nine chrome-plated light steps create a distinctive, premium visual effect. Measuring 5,365 mm in length, 2,029 mm in width, and 1,870 mm in height—with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm—the ES9 fits squarely within the full-size SUV category.

The cockpit features a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and dual 16-inch NIO Link executive screens for rear passengers. All trims come standard with NIO’s in-house SkyOS·TianShu AI operating system, built upon the NOMI Intelligence 4.0 multi-agent architecture. For intelligent driving hardware, the Luxury trim includes one NX9031 ‘Shenji’ chip, while the Signature and Horizon Special Editions upgrade to a dual-chip configuration. Leveraging NIO’s World Model (NWM) architecture, the full-domain Navigation on Pilot Plus (NOP+) system covers highways, urban expressways, and open city roads—supporting autonomous lane changes, overtaking, speed adjustment, and traffic-following, with continuous over-the-air (OTA) enhancements.

The powertrain adopts a 900V high-voltage platform and 5C ultra-fast charging technology. All variants feature a front 180 kW induction asynchronous motor and a rear 340 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering a combined output of 520 kW and peak torque of 700 N·m—enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.3 seconds. CLTC-rated battery range options are 600 km and 620 km. Underpinning the chassis is NIO’s TianXing Intelligent Chassis technology, centered around the FAS electro-hydraulic 48V fully active suspension system—balancing ride comfort and precise handling.

Industry analysts note that the ES9’s 30-day 10,000-unit delivery pace underscores strong market recognition for integrated technological capability and service excellence in the premium smart EV SUV segment. Amid intensifying competition, the BaaS model has become a pivotal factor influencing high-end buyer decisions—while the 900V platform and dual-chip intelligent driving setup further cement the ES9’s position as a technical benchmark.
