The highly anticipated MG 07 pure-electric sedan has officially entered its pre-launch phase. According to Auto-First, ahead of its official pre-order launch on July 29, Chen Cui, General Manager of MG China, revealed key specifications and configuration strategies during a recent media preview event. Positioned in the midsize pure-electric sedan segment, the vehicle is built on SAIC Motor Group's in-house 'Nebula' electric-vehicle platform, aiming to strengthen product competitiveness through highly localized, vertically integrated hardware.
Dimensions measure 4,886 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,485 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. Its innovative space layout delivers a 168 L front trunk — large enough for two 20-inch carry-on suitcases — plus a standard 697 L rear trunk that expands to 1,563 L when the rear seats are folded. A concealed lower-level storage compartment (109 L) houses a 30 L dual-zone compressor-cooled refrigerator capable of temperature control from –18°C to 15°C; it cools to 0°C in just 10 minutes and maintains refrigeration for 24 hours after power loss.
Two pure-electric powertrain options are offered: an entry-level variant equipped with a liquid–solid-state hybrid battery pack delivering a CLTC range of 610 km, priced under ¥150,000 (approx. $22,100); and a top-tier version featuring an 800 V high-voltage architecture and 5C fast-charging battery, achieving a CLTC range of 840 km priced at $26,500. Both variants share identical sensor hardware to ensure consistent active-safety processing performance.
In intelligent driving, the MG 07 becomes the first mass-produced domestic midsize sedan to adopt the Momenta R7 autonomous driving platform. Built upon Momenta's global AI model and paired with the in-house Xheart X7 computing platform, the system rivals Tesla FSD V14, supporting highway NOA, city intelligent cruise, and complex underground parking lot memory parking. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit is standard across all trims.
The cabin experience also features distinctive highlights: higher trims include a zero-gravity front passenger seat adjustable up to 130°, with four-way power leg support plus heating, ventilation, and massage functions. A pull-out vanity desk and oversized makeup mirror replace the conventional glovebox on the passenger side. Human–machine interaction is powered by an OPPO-customized smart connectivity interface running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip platform.
In addition, a plug-in hybrid variant of the MG 07 will be launched, pairing a 1.5 L naturally aspirated engine with dual electric motors. It delivers a WLTC all-electric range of 185 km and achieves 0–100 km/h acceleration in 6.5 seconds. The vehicle has already rolled off the production line at a manufacturing base in eastern China, though its official market launch date and overseas sales plans remain unannounced.
