Tesla
Tesla Motors is an American electric vehicle company founded in 2003 by Stanford dropout Elon Reeve Musk and graduate JB Straubel. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, the company is named after electrical engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla. Tesla produces only pure electric vehicles, including the Tesla Roadster, Model S, and Model X. Tesla was the world’s first EV company to adopt lithium-ion battery packs. Between 2008 and 2012, over 2,250 Roadsters were sold in 31 countries. In 2010, production began for right-hand drive markets like the UK and Ireland, followed by expansion into Australia, Japan, Singapore, and China.
