The MG 07 all-electric coupe is poised to enter the Chinese market — officially dubbed a "smart, pure-electric coupe designed exclusively for young consumers," it will open pre-orders on July 29, 2026. Its standout features include one of the industry's first mass-produced semi-solid-state batteries and a user-friendly configuration dubbed by SAIC as the "world's first 'Queen' multi-function makeup station." The expected pre-order price range is approximately ¥150,000–¥180,000 (roughly $22,000–$26,500).
As a new all-electric coupe under SAIC Motor Group's MG brand, the MG 07 measures 4,886 × 1,900 × 1,485 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm — positioning it between the TOYOTA Camry and Tesla Model 3. It will be offered in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants. The base all-electric version uses a 67 kWh semi-solid-state battery delivering a CLTC all-electric range of 610 km (~379 miles); the high-spec variant upgrades to an 800V high-voltage architecture and 5C ultra-fast charging, boosting CLTC range to 840 km (~522 miles).
According to SAIC, the semi-solid-state battery contains only ~5% liquid electrolyte and passed nail penetration testing for two consecutive hours without smoke, fire, or explosion — exceeding industry standards by 20%. Earlier, MG established itself as the "world's first mass-produced semi-solid-state electric vehicle" with the MG4; the MG 4X SUV has since opened for pre-order with a starting price of ¥99,800. The MG 07 marks the brand's third model using this technology — and its first production vehicle equipped with the Momenta R7 World Model and LiDAR, enabling L2 to L2++ level intelligent driving, including city navigation pilot and remote parking assist.
Inside the cabin, the MG 07 features a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. The seats offer zero-gravity mode plus heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Most notably, it debuts the industry-first "Queen makeup station" — integrated above the front passenger glovebox, featuring a pull-out vanity mirror and dedicated storage space — claimed by SAIC as the world's first such configuration.
Notably, SAIC plans to introduce this semi-solid-state battery technology to the European market before the end of 2026, with the MG4 EV Urban as the launch model. The MG 07 has not yet announced overseas launch plans, nor confirmed whether it will be exported or sold globally.
