On May 28, 2026, BYD officially launched the all-new Song Ultra DM-i — a B-segment plug-in hybrid SUV joining BYD’s Dynasty Series. The model is offered in five trims, with two CLTC pure-electric ranges: 205 km and 310 km. Its official retail price spans ¥129,900–¥159,900, marking the first time a B-segment PHEV SUV with 310 km of pure-EV range enters the ¥130,000 price bracket — directly addressing core family-user demands for long range, low fuel consumption, and high cost-performance.

The powertrain features BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid technology. The 310 km variant achieves an NEDC fuel consumption of just 3.3 L/100 km in hybrid mode (with battery depleted), while its full-tank-and-charge combined range reaches 1,845 km. Leveraging Blade Battery and Flash Charging technology, the vehicle delivers zero-energy-consumption daily commuting on pure EV power and stress-free cross-province long-distance travel — significantly elevating both refueling efficiency and energy economy.
Intelligently, the Song Ultra DM-i is the first Dynasty Series model equipped with BYD’s new super-intelligent assistant ‘DIDI-Xia’ — supporting proactive voice interaction, semantic fuzzy search, and multimodal scenario services, with operation logic tailored to users of all ages. Higher-trim models offer optional ‘Tianshen Zhi Yan B’ intelligent driving system, featuring LiDAR; buyers receive one year of urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and intelligent parking safety fallback services upon purchase. Existing owners can access equivalent features via OTA updates.
In terms of space, the Song Ultra DM-i is a B-segment large five-seater SUV with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm, delivering generous rear legroom. Front seats fold completely flat to create a ‘mobile bed’ mode, while the standard trunk capacity is 520 L — expandable to over 1,700 L. All trims include the ‘Queen’s Co-Driver Seat’ (with massage, ventilation, heating, and powered leg rest). Top trims add the Yunian-C intelligent damping control system, TBC (Turn-Based Control) corner braking, and a 16-speaker Dynaudio audio system.
As the latest addition to the Song family, the Song Ultra DM-i complements the previously launched Song Ultra EV, forming a dual-powertrain strategy. As of mid-2026, cumulative Song-family users have surpassed 4.2 million; the Song Ultra EV secured over 80,000 orders within just two months of launch. With the DM-i version now entering the market, BYD has achieved full coverage across the mainstream ¥120,000–¥160,000 family SUV segment — offering both BEV and PHEV options — further deepening its product matrix and strengthening real-world competitiveness.
