Great Wall Auto has officially unveiled official images of the 2025 TANK 300, marking a major mid-cycle refresh for this Chinese hardcore off-road SUV. The update brings enhancements to exterior design, chassis, intelligent driving capabilities, and plug-in hybrid powertrain — but full technical specifications and pricing remain unannounced.

Exterior & Intelligence: Bolder and More Advanced
The front-end design sees significant changes: the original 'Silver T, Black U' badge is replaced by a raised, all-caps 'T A N K' lettering emblem; the front bumper retains its rugged character, featuring exposed fasteners and a tow/recovery hook. A newly added detachable quick-mount panel below the A-pillar enables easy installation of spotlights or dashcam brackets — bringing the overall styling closer to the Hooke Edition concept revealed at Shanghai Auto Show.
A raised module atop the roof strongly suggests a dedicated mounting location for a LiDAR sensor, hinting that the high-end Coffee Pilot Ultra intelligent driving system may be onboard. This system has already been validated in production on models like TANK 400.
Chassis & Dimensions: Longer Wheelbase, Enhanced Off-Road Capability
Per MIIT registration data, the 2025 TANK 300 measures 4886 mm × 1984 mm × 1927 mm, with a wheelbase of 3010 mm — substantially longer than the current model (4750 mm × 1930 mm × 1903 mm, wheelbase 2750 mm). The front overhang is shortened, improving approach angle and further optimizing off-road clearance.

PHEV Powertrain: Hi4-Z Architecture Delivers 200 km WLTC EV Range
The plug-in hybrid variant adopts the new Hi4-Z architecture paired with a 60 kWh battery pack, achieving a WLTC-rated pure electric range of 200 km. This system shares technological roots with the 800V platform used in TANK 400 — which pairs a 59 kWh NMC battery with a 2.0T engine to deliver an identical 200 km EV range and 635 kW combined system output.
For conventional powertrains, the lineup is expected to carry over existing options: a 2.0T four-cylinder (175 kW), a 2.4T diesel (490 N·m), and a 3.0T V6 gasoline (265 kW). The suspension remains front double-wishbone / rear multi-link body-on-frame; a rear differential lock comes standard, while a front differential lock remains optional.

Market Timing: Pre-orders Launch July 6 in China; Global Rollout Undecided
According to official announcements, the 2025 TANK 300 will open domestic pre-orders in China on July 6, 2026. Its global launch timeline remains unclear — officials only state it will "advance overseas deliveries following the China debut." Data shows that in May 2026, total TANK 300 deliveries in China reached 4,183 units, including 588 units of the Hi4-T PHEV variant — roughly 14% of the total.
