GAC Trumpchi Yue7 Official Images Unveiled: Box-Shape Rugged SUV with PHEV Powertrain

GAC Trumpchi has officially unveiled the official images of its all-new rugged new-energy SUV—the Trumpchi Yue7. As a key strategic move targeting younger, more individualistic consumers and off-road usage scenarios, the Yue7 draws widespread attention with its bold 'box-shaped' design language and plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Exterior styling features sharp, straight lines that define a classic rugged off-road silhouette. The front fascia adopts a closed-off design—consistent with its new-energy identity—while three vertically aligned, independent DRLs form a signature visual element, balancing high recognition with functional clarity. Notably, according to prior MIIT registration documents, the vehicle integrates a roof-mounted LiDAR unit at the front of the roof, and sensor mounting points are reserved on the front fenders—indicating it will be equipped with an advanced intelligent driving assistance system.

The side profile maintains its hardcore character: wide, flared wheel arches paired with all-terrain (AT) tires, side steps, floating exterior mirrors, and flush-mounted mechanical door handles strike a balance between practicality and clean surface continuity. Standard off-road features—including roof rails, a rear-mounted ‘mini spare tire’ (‘bookbag’), and an externally mounted full-size spare tire—enhance both functionality and visual impact.

The rear design echoes the front’s logic: vertical LED taillights combine with the externally mounted spare tire for a classic off-road look; the side-hinged tailgate improves cargo-loading convenience, while hidden exhaust outlets further emphasize refinement and its new-energy positioning.

Under the hood, the Trumpchi Yue7 features a plug-in hybrid powertrain comprising a 1.5T gasoline engine and an electric motor. The 1.5T engine delivers a maximum output of 125 kW. This powertrain strikes an optimal balance between fuel efficiency and responsive low-to-mid-speed performance—ideal for both urban commuting and light off-road use.
