Entering Q2 2026, China’s MPV market is witnessing a rare wave of concentrated launches. According to official announcements, four all-new MPVs — the Dongfeng Fengxing StarSea V9 (new model), GAC Trumpchi Xiangwang M8 PHEV L, Xiangwang E8 PHEV, and Leapmotor D99 — will hit the market in密集 succession from early June through July, forming the strongest MPV product lineup in recent years.

The new Dongfeng Fengxing StarSea V9 debuts on June 7 with a starting price of ¥179,900. Building on the current model, it upgrades smart and comfort features — adding a dual-mode (cooling/heating) in-car refrigerator and a 15.6-inch high-definition touchscreen for the front passenger seat. It also adopts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P cockpit chip. Its 3,040 mm wheelbase delivers class-leading interior space, while its CLTC pure-electric range reaches 200 km and total range exceeds 1,300 km — balancing daily commuting efficiency with long-distance travel convenience.
GAC Trumpchi opts for a ‘dual-model launch’ on June 11: the flagship plug-in hybrid MPV Xiangwang M8 PHEV L and the youth- and family-oriented Xiangwang E8 PHEV debut simultaneously. The former starts at ¥269,900, featuring a large-scale borderless front grille, a Yamaha audio system, and ceiling-mounted rear entertainment screens; its CLTC pure-electric range is 245 km. The latter adopts a more compact design with a closed-off front fascia and achieves a best-in-class CLTC pure-electric range of 285 km among domestic PHEV MPVs.
The Leapmotor D99 is scheduled to launch from late June through July, with a pre-order price range of ¥250,000–¥300,000. Marketed around ‘large dimensions + extended range,’ it measures nearly 5.3 meters in length and boasts a 3,110 mm wheelbase — one of the longest among domestically produced MPVs. Its extended-range variant delivers an industry-leading CLTC pure-electric range of 480 km, while its BEV version reaches 700 km. Air suspension comes standard, significantly enhancing ride comfort and driving refinement.
