MG 07 Officially Launched: Dual Powertrain Strategy with BEV and PHEV, Starting at RMB 108,900

At the 2026 Chengdu International Automobile Exhibition, SAIC Motor Group's MG brand officially launched its all-new mid-size sedan — the MG 07. The model is offered in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants, spanning seven trim levels, with an official price range of RMB 108,900 to RMB 159,900.

The BEV variant of the MG 07 began accepting pre-orders last month, starting at RMB 125,900. The version with a CLTC-rated range of 650 km is scheduled for delivery by late August, while the high-end 845 km range variant is slated for October delivery.

Exterior design features a star-ring full-width LED headlight assembly and uniquely styled headlights. The front fascia includes a one-piece stamped 'clamshell' hood and a 168L front trunk. Dimensions measure 4,886 mm × 1,900 mm × 1,478 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. Sporty cues include semi-concealed door handles, frameless doors, two-tone alloy wheels, and yellow brake calipers. The rear features a full-width LED taillight and a five-stage adjustable power rear spoiler. Six exterior color options are available: Morello Purple, Nottingham Grey, Oxford Blue, Milia Pink, California Blue, and Salt Lake White.

The intelligent cockpit integrates a fully digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen, powered by the Qualcomm 8295P chip and Inspiration OS. Cabin amenities include driver auto-adjusting/heated/ventilated seats, a 'Queen' zero-gravity seat for the front passenger, an electrochromic panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated rear seats, and a 21-speaker premium audio system. The chassis features mCDC active electromagnetic suspension, with interior themes offered in White-Purple and Royal Blue.

For powertrains, the BEV version is built on an 800V high-voltage architecture and uses a permanent-magnet synchronous front motor, delivering maximum outputs of either 176 kW (300 N·m peak torque) or 235 kW (350 N·m peak torque). Battery options include 67 kWh and 91 kWh units, enabling CLTC all-electric ranges of 610 km, 650 km, and 845 km respectively. Notably, the two 610 km-range models use QingTao Energy's liquid–solid (semi-solid-state) batteries, while all other BEV and PHEV variants adopt CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.

The PHEV version pairs a 1.5L engine (82 kW max power) with a drive motor (152 kW max power), offering a CLTC all-electric range of 245 km, a low 2.91 L/100 km fuel consumption in charge-sustaining mode, and a combined full-charge/full-tank CLTC range of up to 1,745 km.
