Hong Qi G919 Rugged SUV to Launch Pre-orders on September 22: Quad-Motor, Triple Locking Differentials, 1,350 km Combined Range

Features Dongfang Tenon-and-Mortise Design and First-Ever Sanshui Intelligent Driving 5.0; Positioned as a Mid-to-Upper-Size Extended-Range Off-Road SUV

The mid-to-upper-size Hong Qi G919 rugged SUV will open pre-orders on September 22, 2026. As a pivotal model marking Hong Qi's deep expansion into professional off-road territory, the vehicle adopts a body-on-frame construction and is powered by a 2.0T extended-range powertrain paired with a quad-motor intelligent electric drive platform — delivering a combined output of 620 kW and peak torque of 1,320 N·m, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

Exterior design fuses Eastern ritual aesthetics with Hyundai's mechanical language. The front fascia features the Gaoshan 'Cascading Tenon-and-Mortise' grille — an homage to traditional Chinese architectural wisdom — while rectangular full-LED retro headlights pay tribute to classic Hong Qi models. Measuring 5,135 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width, and 1,950 mm in height — with a 2,900 mm wheelbase — the G919 boasts flared wheel arches, black lower cladding, and a floating roof to reinforce its off-road presence; all variants come standard with all-terrain AT tires. At the rear, a side-opening tailgate and externally mounted spare tire carrier complement vertically oriented taillights that further emphasize its rugged character.

For intelligent capabilities, the roof integrates a high-performance 384-line LiDAR from Zhuoyu, debuting Hong Qi's Sanshui Intelligent Driving 5.0 system. Its variable-field-of-view technology widens lateral scanning in urban mode and extends longitudinal detection range on highways and expressways. A front-fused LiDAR-vision solution enhances perception in complex scenarios, while the system pioneers a satellite-architecture layout for the primary LiDAR.

The interior draws inspiration from the 'Beijing Central Axis' concept, forming a full-width 'Central Axis Group'. A large floating central touchscreen anchors the cabin, complemented by practical physical controls. The center console's gear selector mimics an aircraft control stick, symmetrically arranged left and right. Seating adopts a spacious five-seat configuration: the front passenger seat includes a leg rest, while rear seats integrate a built-in refrigerator, fold-out table, and both heating and ventilation functions.

Off-road capability stands out as one of the G919's core strengths: it features front and rear mechanical differential locks plus an energy-based center lock — collectively dubbed the 'triple locking differentials'. Its professional off-road body-on-frame chassis delivers a torsional rigidity of 9,500 N·m/°, with high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel accounting for over 90% of the structure — and 100% hot-formed steel used throughout the passenger cell. Four independent motors precisely control torque and speed at each wheel, enabling dual-side counter-rotation, achieving a minimum turning radius of 5.3 meters — reduced to just 2.5 meters via the Qixuan MAX infinitely variable steering function for zero-radius U-turns and differential steering. An air suspension system is also standard.

In terms of range, the G919 delivers a CLTC all-electric range of 280 km and a combined range of 1,350 km — meeting both long-distance expedition and daily commuting needs.
