Hongqi H9 PHEV Range Specifications Revealed: Up to 216 km WLTC All-Electric Range

Recently, MIIT released the 32nd Batch of New Energy Vehicle Models Exempted from Vehicle Purchase Tax, revealing range-related specifications for the all-new Hongqi H9 PHEV. The vehicle will adopt a plug-in hybrid powertrain comprising a 2.0T engine and electric motor, with an official launch expected before year-end 2026.

According to the filing, two variants of the Hongqi H9 PHEV are listed — both equipped with a 40.4 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) lithium-ion battery pack. Their respective WLTC all-electric ranges are 205 km and 216 km; combined fuel consumption figures stand at 5.78 L/100 km and 5.19 L/100 km. The engine delivers a maximum output of 145 kW, though key parameters — including motor output, system net power, and torque — remain undisclosed.

Design-wise, the new model retains Hongqi's signature styling language: a vertical-slat grille paired with neatly arranged chrome vertical bars; the central emblem extends forward via chrome trim, reinforcing the "central axis" visual concept. Its dimensions measure 5230 mm × 1955 mm × 1515 mm, with a wheelbase of 3120 mm, positioning it as a full-size luxury sedan. A wide range of optional equipment is offered, including multiple wheel designs, red brake calipers, rear quarter-window glass, exclusive side flag emblems, and gradient-tinted front windows; a panoramic sunroof comes standard across all trims.

Intelligent driving hardware adopts a tiered strategy: the filing references two distinct front and rear fascia configurations — one featuring lidar sensors, the other omitting lidar entirely at both ends — suggesting multiple ADAS capability levels will be available. No official details have yet been disclosed regarding lidar suppliers, computing platforms, or functional scope.

As a pivotal model expanding Hongqi's footprint into the new energy luxury sedan segment, the H9 PHEV's regulatory filing signals a clear strategic direction: preserving core gasoline-powered luxury DNA while accelerating plug-in hybrid deployment. With WLTC all-electric range exceeding 200 km, it now sits near the top tier among mainstream PHEVs — though final product competitiveness awaits real-world delivery and user validation.
