Hongqi All-New Tiangong 08 Opens Pre-Orders as First Vehicle Compliant with China's New Battery Safety Standards

On July 1, 2026 — the very day China's new mandatory battery safety standards for new energy vehicles take effect — Hongqi officially opens pre-orders for its all-new Tiangong 08. As the industry's first mass-production model fully compliant with — and exceeding — the updated national battery safety standards, the launch model is the Tiangong 08 670 Max, priced at RMB 199,800 for pre-order. Customers can secure all pre-order benefits by paying a RMB 99 deposit via the Hongqi SmartLink app or Hongqi Space mini-program.

Two enhanced incentives are offered during the pre-order period: a RMB 2,000 deposit counts toward RMB 12,000 of the final vehicle payment; plus a RMB 10,000 cash subsidy for purchase tax. Combined, these bring the limited-time effective price down to RMB 179,800. Early pre-order customers also receive six premium perks valued from RMB 66,999, including: up to RMB 10,000 trade-in subsidy; 0% down payment and 0% interest financing for 2 years (valued at RMB 9,000); lifetime access to combined highway + urban intelligent driving assistance (valued at RMB 30,000); upgraded 21-inch wheels with Pirelli P ZERO E tires (valued at RMB 7,999); front-row dual "Yunxiang" comfort seats (valued at RMB 10,000); and comprehensive lifelong coverage — including full-vehicle & powertrain warranty, free roadside assistance, and vehicle pickup/drop-off services.

In terms of safety, the vehicle's Xuanjia Battery has passed multiple extreme validation tests far exceeding national standards: continuous submersion in 1-meter-deep water for 310 hours (620× the IPX7 standard); bottom impact resistance of 350 J (2.3× the national standard); and successful survival of both 200 kN lateral extrusion and ballistic impact testing — without fire or explosion. The body structure also participated in the CATARC "Mount Everest" program, where a single vehicle sequentially passed four grueling tests: underwater underbody scraping, front/rear compression, side pole impact, and roof-side pressure — achieving roof crush resistance 1.7× the national standard.

For occupant health, the Tiangong 08 features an industry-first whole-vehicle electromagnetic shielding system, with electromagnetic immunity field strength 4.6× the national standard and overall EM radiation lower than that of a household electric shaver. Interior materials meet infant-safe environmental standards, with VOC emissions just one-third of the national limit. The intelligent cockpit comes standard with a 5-nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, supporting cold starts at −40°C and stable operation up to +85°C; other family-friendly features include a 65.5-inch AR-HUD, dual 15.6-inch anti-glare displays, and four-zone voice recognition supporting regional dialects.

Powertrain and charging: All variants feature an 800V high-voltage architecture and 4C ultra-fast charging battery, delivering a CLTC range of 670 km and enabling 10–80% charging in just 15 minutes. The chassis adopts a front double-wishbone / rear five-link suspension layout, achieves a 100–0 km/h braking distance of 33.6 meters, supports rear-wheel steering and crab-walking mode, and delivers a minimum turning radius of just 5.3 meters.
