BYD Launches 10,000-Person Recruitment Drive to Accelerate Global Production Expansion

With global orders continuing to climb, BYD has officially launched a large-scale talent recruitment initiative at its Shenzhen-Shantou Special Cooperation Zone industrial base — aiming to hire over 9,000 new employees across the full spectrum of vehicle manufacturing and core component production. According to Jiemian News, this recruitment drive targets BYD's Divisions 11 and 15 (Xiamo Park and EBU Park), with positions spanning frontline assembly workers, welding technicians, mold designers, quality inspectors, and mid-level management roles.

Recruitment needs are broken down by zone: Division 11 (Xiamo Park) plans to hire 4,800 people, primarily to fill roles in stamping, interior assembly, and warehousing/logistics; Division 15 (Xiamo Park) will recruit 1,200 staff focused on final assembly line operations, welding, and foaming processes; meanwhile, the EBU Park — also under Division 15 — requires 2,000 production-line operators, equipment commissioning technicians, and welders. The compensation structure is tiered and transparent: entry-level operator roles start at ¥5,000/month; skilled trades such as welding and electrical work command up to ¥10,000/month; senior technicians and mold designers earn between ¥15,000–¥20,000/month.

The Shenzhen-Shantou BYD Automobile Industrial Park serves as a pivotal 'super-factory'. It currently mass-produces key export models including the FANG CHENG BAO Tai 7 (FCB Ti7), Song Plus, and Song Pro. In 2025, output from this base exceeded 300,000 units; upon full capacity, annual output value is projected to reach RMB 220 billion.

This expansion aligns closely with BYD's global production rollout timeline. At its Rayong, Thailand base, five models — including the Dolphin, ATTO 3, Seal 5 DM-i, Sealion 5 DM-i, and Sealion 6 DM-i — are now locally produced. Its Brazil plant recently rolled out its 100,000th new-energy vehicle, employing more than 5,500 staff. Meanwhile, construction of BYD's passenger vehicle factory in Szeged, Hungary — its first European manufacturing base — is progressing rapidly.

Industry data shows China's total passenger vehicle exports reached 5 million units in the first half of 2026, up 65.3% year-on-year; June alone saw exports exceed one million units. BYD ranks among the top tier of exporters alongside Chery, SAIC Motor, GEELY, and Changan. Analysts note that this intensive hiring wave is not an isolated move — it's a critical human-resource enabler for BYD's 2026 overseas sales target of 1.5 million vehicles.
