Its first flagship model, the Denza Z9 GT EV, will debut in Europe in April 2026, and pre-orders will open in the UK that same week. The car touts its "flash charging revolution," claiming it can charge 10% to 70% of its battery in just 5 minutes. However, its overseas price is more than three times that of the Chinese market , drawing widespread attention.

The Denza Z9 GT made its debut in China in March 2026, initially claiming a CLTC range of 1036 kilometers (644 miles) and being hailed as the "world's longest-range pure electric vehicle." Upon entering the European market, the car adopted the WLTP testing standard, with an official maximum range of 599 kilometers (372 miles). A plug-in hybrid version was also launched simultaneously, both equipped with BYD's second-generation blade battery and flash charging technology, supporting a maximum charging power of 1500kW.

According to official disclosures, the flash charging system follows the principle of "Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3": at room temperature, it only takes 5 minutes to replenish 10%–70% of the power; 9 minutes to replenish 10%–97% of the power; and even in extremely cold environments of -30°C, it only takes 12 minutes to replenish 20%–97% of the power (3 minutes longer than at room temperature).

The Denza Z9 GT offers both pure electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The EV version is equipped with a 122.49kWh battery pack and a three-motor system, delivering a combined maximum power of 850kW (1140 hp) and a peak torque of 1210 N·m. Its dimensions are 5195mm × 1990mm × 1480mm, with a wheelbase of 3125mm, positioning it to compete with the Porsche Panamera and Taycan.

In the UK market , the EV version starts at £105,000 (approximately US$140,000), and the PHEV version starts at £95,000 (approximately US$126,500). In Germany and France, the EV version starts at €115,000 (including VAT, approximately US$134,500). In comparison, the car starts at only RMB 269,800 (approximately US$39,300) in the Chinese market, making the overseas price about 3.1 times that in China.

To enhance its premium image, Denza partnered with former James Bond actor Daniel Craig for the European launch event. BYD Executive Vice President Li Ling stated, " The launch of the Denza Z9 GT in Europe marks a significant milestone in the brand's globalization. It embodies cutting-edge technology, aesthetic design, and an emotional driving experience—making it an ideal vehicle for promoting the '5-minute ready, 9-minute full charge, and +3-minute fast charging' concept globally."

It's worth noting that the Denza Z9 GT is currently still in the pre-order stage and has not yet been officially delivered. Its initial pre-order countries in Europe include France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK, with plans to expand to 30 countries by the end of 2026. Meanwhile, another high-performance model, the Denza Z (1582 hp version), will also be available in the UK starting at £142,900, further enriching the high-end product lineup.
