Affected vehicles span extended production periods: Xpeng G6 units manufactured between April 7, 2023 and December 22, 2025 — totaling 134,588 vehicles; Xpeng P7+ units produced from July 23, 2024 to December 10, 2025 — totaling 94,688 vehicles; and Xpeng X9 units built between August 8, 2023 and September 26, 2025 — totaling 35,566 vehicles. Combined, the recall affects 264,842 vehicles.

Hazard Rooted in Poor Visual Contrast of Emergency Mechanical Release Handle

According to the official filing, the direct cause is that the interior emergency mechanical release handle closely matches the color of its surrounding trim, making it difficult to quickly locate and operate during emergencies. In extreme scenarios — such as severe collisions or complete failure of the vehicle's low-voltage system — this design may delay occupants' ability to manually open doors for evacuation, posing a potential safety hazard.
