XPeng MONA Family's First SUV L03 Cleared by MIIT, Fastback Design + VLA 2.0 Intelligent Driving

Following the M03, XPeng Unveils New SUV Model Named 'L'—2,850 mm Wheelbase, Up to 650 km Range

XPeng Motors has officially unveiled the L03—the first SUV in its MONA sub-brand—marking the brand’s expansion from sedans into the SUV segment. Complementing the already mass-produced M03, the new ‘M-L dual-line strategy’ reflects XPeng founder He Xiaopeng’s philosophy: “Two letters, two postures—combined into one shared romance.”

The L03 adopts a fastback-style coupe SUV silhouette, featuring frameless doors and a full-width LED taillight. Its design language stays true to the MONA series’ minimalist, tech-forward aesthetic. According to MIIT’s 406th batch of new vehicle approvals, the L03 has a 2,850 mm wheelbase and is positioned as a mid-size BEV SUV—sharing its platform with the M03 while offering enhanced interior space and broader usage scenarios.

Powertrain-wise, the L03 uses a single-motor setup delivering peak output of 183 kW (~249 hp). Its battery pack—supplied by CALB—is lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and comes in two capacities: 56 kWh and 69 kWh. CLTC-rated ranges are estimated at approximately 550 km and 650 km respectively. All trims come standard with XPeng’s latest VLA 2.0 intelligent driving assistance system, supporting features including highway Navigation Guided Pilot (NGP) and urban memory parking.

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but given the current M03 range of ¥109,800–¥155,800, industry analysts expect the L03 to launch between ¥130,000–¥170,000—targeting rivals like BYD Yuan PLUS, GAC Aion Y series, and the entry-level Tesla Model Y.

Since its 2024 launch, the M03 has become XPeng’s sales cornerstone: delivering nearly 170,000 units in 2025 alone—over 40% of XPeng’s total volume. As of April 2026, cumulative deliveries have surpassed 250,000 units. The L03 aims to broaden MONA’s user base further—especially among families and young buyers upgrading their vehicles. The SUV is scheduled to go on sale within 2026.
