Xpeng G9L Spied in Real-World Photos: All-New Design with Extended-Range/BEV Two Versions

Mid-to-Large-Size Five-Seat SUV, CLTC Range Up to 805 km; RWD and AWD Options Available

Recently, real-world photos of the Xpeng G9L surfaced online. As a key strategic entry by Xpeng Automobile into the mid-to-large-size SUV segment, the new model adopts the brand's latest design language — clean, refined, and layered — significantly boosting visual distinctiveness. It remains in the spy-shot phase, with no official launch date or pricing announced yet.

Exterior styling follows the mainstream BEV trend with a fully enclosed front fascia, complemented by a seamless, dual-bar full-width LED headlight assembly. The sharp light signature delivers strong tech appeal when illuminated. Integrated into the front bumper are separate low- and high-beam projectors, plus a dedicated 'small blue light' for ADAS functions. A centrally mounted active grille adjusts its opening intelligently based on driving conditions — optimizing both thermal management and aerodynamic drag.

The rear end is rounded and full-bodied, featuring a full-width taillight bar that also incorporates the signature 'small blue light', creating visual continuity with the front. An inset license plate recess and contrasting-color rear bumper further enhance perceived width and sporty character.

In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 5120 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1782 mm in height (with alternative height options at 1788 mm and 1795 mm), riding on a 3100-mm wheelbase — firmly positioning it as a large five-seat, mid-to-large-size SUV.

The interior is expected to feature a floating central touchscreen and an electronic digital rearview mirror, continuing Xpeng's signature intelligent configuration philosophy. Powertrain options include both battery-electric and extended-range variants — with RWD and AWD configurations available for each.

The BEV version offers either NMC or LFP battery chemistries, paired with two pack capacities: 91.9 kWh and 110 kWh. CLTC all-electric ranges span six variants: 672 km, 702 km, 725 km, 755 km, 775 km, and 805 km. The RWD variant uses a 270-kW motor; the AWD version pairs a 160-kW front motor with a 270-kW rear motor.

The extended-range version comes standard with a 63.3-kWh LFP battery and a DAM15NTE 1.5T range extender engine rated at 110 kW. Its WLTC all-electric range is offered in two versions: 325 km and 350 km. The RWD model uses a single 210-kW motor; the AWD version combines a 160-kW front motor with a 210-kW rear motor.

It's important to note that the Xpeng G9L remains in the spy-shot phase. Official details — including launch timing, pricing strategy, and final specification packages — are still pending formal announcement. With its positioning and dual-powertrain strategy, the Xpeng G9L is poised to strengthen Xpeng's competitiveness in the 200,000–300,000 RMB mid-to-large-size SUV segment.
