Ora GT and Sport Edition Official Images Revealed: Sport Package Added, LiDAR Exclusive to EV Version

Great Wall Motors' Ora brand recently unveiled teaser information for the 2026 Ora 5 GT and Sport models via its official social media platforms. The two new variants focus on visual updates, targeting a younger, sportier demographic. Notably, this update centers on styling changes — with no disclosed substantive enhancements to powertrain or chassis performance.

The Ora 5 Sport features a two-tone body — white roof contrasting with the main body color — plus red brake calipers, larger-diameter wheels, and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, currently available only on the all-electric version. The Ora 5 GT further emphasizes aerodynamics with an added front splitter, rear spoiler, and side skirts; wheels, headlights, brakes, and aerodynamic components all receive red accents. A charging port visible on the front fender in the teaser image confirms its all-electric drivetrain.

The current Ora 5 offers three powertrains: battery electric, self-charging hybrid, and conventional gasoline. The EV version uses a 150 kW front-mounted motor paired with either a 45.3 kWh or 58.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering CLTC ranges of 480 km and 580 km respectively. The gasoline variant employs a 135 kW 1.5T turbocharged engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, achieving 0–100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and a WLTC fuel consumption of 6.4 L/100 km. The hybrid model combines a 115 kW 1.5T engine and a 140 kW front motor with a dedicated 2-speed hybrid transmission, producing a combined output of 166 kW, 0–100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, and a WLTC fuel consumption of 4.5 L/100 km.

For intelligent features, the Ora 5 comes standard with Coffee Pilot 3 OS driver-assistance system, supporting navigation-guided driving and claiming up to 3 km of automated parking navigation — even inside multi-level garages. The automaker stresses that, despite LiDAR being optional, the Ora 5 could become China's most affordable LiDAR-equipped vehicle — though this hardware remains unavailable on non-EV versions, and overseas adaptation plans remain unclear.

According to China EV DataTracker, the Ora 5 EV version delivered 2,789 units domestically in June 2026. Since its December 2025 launch, monthly sales have yet to exceed 5,000 units. Analysts suggest the new GT and Sport trims — alongside recently launched HEV and ICE variants — may broaden product appeal, though market reception remains to be seen.
