Recent reports indicate the MG MG 07 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version will officially debut and launch at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show. Positioned as a midsize sedan, this model represents MG's strategic push into the new-energy sedan segment and is expected to further strengthen its competitiveness in the mainstream family-car market.

The new model features SAIC Motor's self-developed DMH ultra-hybrid system, pairing a 1.5L engine with an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum output of 112 hp, while the motor outputs up to 207 hp. It's equipped with a 30 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a CLTC all-electric range of 245 km and a CLTC combined range of 1,745 km. Note that this range figure is based on CLTC testing conditions and may vary in real-world usage.
Exterior design adopts a new star-ring full-width headlight assembly, complemented by distinctive split-style headlights. The front fascia features a one-piece stamped clamshell hood and a 168 L front trunk. Dimensions measure 4,886 mm × 1,900 mm × 1,478 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. The rear end sports a full-width taillight and a five-position adjustable electric spoiler, with the MG logo embedded for enhanced sportiness and tech appeal.
Inside, the cabin adopts an enveloping layout, featuring a fully digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen powered by the 8295P cockpit chip and Inspiration OS. Equipment is comprehensive: the driver's seat offers power adjustment, heating, and ventilation; the front passenger seat features a 'Queen Zero-Gravity' seat; additional highlights include a panoramic sunroof, rear-seat heating/ventilation, a multifunctional makeup mirror, and a 21-speaker audio system.
For intelligent driving, the LiDAR-equipped variant integrates LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and 11 cameras. It runs Momenta R7 ADAS software, offering 104 driver-assistance functions covering both highway and urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) scenarios. However, specific deployment capabilities, city-level rollout scope, and future OTA update schedules remain undisclosed.
For comparison, the all-electric MG 07 variant has already entered pre-sale with five trims priced from RMB 125,900 to RMB 165,900. Built on an 800V platform, it uses a permanent-magnet synchronous front motor with peak outputs of 176 kW and 235 kW, and peak torque of 300 N·m and 350 N·m respectively. Battery options include 67 kWh and 91 kWh variants, delivering CLTC all-electric ranges of 610 km, 650 km, and 845 km.
