On July 8, Mercedes-Benz officially launched the new all-electric GLC Gold Edition, with a nationwide starting price of ¥339,800. Simultaneously, the Sliver Edition and Platinum Edition unveiled their pre-order prices at ¥299,900 and ¥388,800 respectively. Built on the brand's dedicated MB.EA all-electric architecture, this is Mercedes-Benz's first native all-electric midsize SUV — featuring 800V high-voltage fast charging and a CLTC-rated maximum range of 703 km.

The new all-electric GLC offers both 5- and 6-seat configurations, with clear product segmentation across the Sliver, Gold, and Platinum editions: the Sliver Edition emphasizes core practicality; the Gold Edition upgrades luxury and comfort features; and the Platinum Edition — featuring a 6-seat layout, a 39.1-inch MBUX panoramic display, and advanced active/passive safety systems — targets premium family users. Each successive trim level delivers progressive enhancements in intelligent interaction, cabin experience, exterior detailing, and safety performance.
Exterior design adopts a retro-shield grille with 942 backlight units and an illuminated star emblem, enabling breathing-light effects during unlocking, charging, and other scenarios. Standard micro-LED headlights are available, with optional AMG sport packages. Six exterior colors are offered: Obsidian Black, Arctic White, Ruby Black, Turquoise Green, and others. The rear features a newly designed star-emblem taillight that mirrors the front fascia for strong visual identity. Overall dimensions measure 4,933 mm (L) × 1,914 mm (W) × 1,710 mm (H), with a wheelbase of 3,027 mm — 107 mm longer and 50 mm longer in wheelbase than the gasoline-powered GLC L.
The interior offers two screen configurations: one features a split-screen setup comprising a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch central touchscreen, and a 14-inch front passenger display; the other option is the industry-leading 39.1-inch MBUX panoramic display — the largest in-car screen currently offered by Mercedes-Benz. Infotainment is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip and the new MB.OS operating system; the "Xiaoben" virtual assistant integrates the Doubao AI large language model for human-like emotional interaction.
Standard equipment includes the Burmester 4D surround sound system (with seat-mounted actuators), a multi-zone intelligent-control panoramic sunroof with star-emblem lighting (supporting independent dimming across nine zones), heated/ventilated/massaging front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, and four-zone automatic climate control. Rear seat cushion thickness and headrest softness have been specially optimized for the Chinese market; the 6-seat version features two independent second-row captain's chairs. All trims include dual-side acoustic laminated front windows, noise-reducing foam-filled tires, reinforced underbody protection plates for the chassis and motor areas, and additional sound-dampening components to suppress road and electric-drive noise.
The chassis shares technology with the S-Class, featuring AIRMATIC air suspension and the ADS+ adaptive damping system. Rear-wheel steering (up to ±4.5°) reduces turning diameter from 12.3 m to 11.3 m; at highway speeds, rear wheels steer in-phase with the front for enhanced stability and agility. Four custom hydraulic bushings are fitted at both front and rear axles — calibrated specifically for Chinese road conditions.
For intelligent driving, the vehicle integrates the Momenta ADAS suite, supporting urban and highway navigation-assisted driving — including automated lane changes, full-scenario smart parking, and ETC auto-tolling. A Momenta R7 large model upgrade is scheduled for later this year, enabling end-to-end 'parking spot-to-parking spot' assisted driving. Additional safety features include AES lane-keeping assist and EESF emergency stop for driver unresponsiveness.
The powertrain leverages the 800V high-voltage architecture, with Mercedes-Benz-developed front/rear dual-motor AWD layout delivering a combined peak output of 310 kW and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 4.9 seconds. It uses an 85.5 kWh NMC battery pack, offering two CLTC range variants — 680 km and 703 km — with 10%–80% fast charging completed in just 22 minutes and a rated energy consumption of 13.9 kWh per 100 km. A front-axle drive disconnect mechanism enables intelligent switching between 2WD and AWD modes — balancing efficiency and dynamic handling.
