Li Automobile has announced that the new Li L6 will officially launch on July 16, 2026. While not a ground-up platform overhaul like the all-new Li L8 or L9, this update spans exterior design, interior layout, smart cockpit, intelligent driving hardware, and battery pack — earning the official label of a "redesign-level" mid-cycle refresh. Founder Li Xiang stated on social media: 'If you're looking for the most balanced experience, the highest-grade materials, and the most comprehensive feature set in its class, take a close look at the 'next-generation' Li L6. In my view, it will be the king of segment experience.'

Core Upgrades: Flagship-Level Enhancements
Compared with the current model (first launched in April 2024), the new Li L6 sees significant leaps in key specs. Battery capacity increases from 26.8 kWh to 51 kWh, boosting WLTC all-electric range from 182 km to 234 km; the front-row display upgrades from dual 15.7-inch screens to a unified 29-inch panel; intelligent driving perception hardware is expected to include up to four standard LiDARs (the current model uses only one), aligning technologically with the new L8 and L9. The cockpit chip is anticipated to be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8797, while the ADAS chip may be the Mach M100 — both representing meaningful generational upgrades over the current 8295P and NVIDIA Drive Thor-U.

Design & Details: Elevated Craftsmanship
The exterior adopts Li's latest design language: the front fascia features a flatter star-ring lighting cluster and rectangular air intakes; two new body colors — Dune Yellow and Hyacinth Purple — are added; side door handles become semi-concealed, with mounting points pre-installed for side and rear LiDARs; dimensions are 4935 mm (L) × 1960 mm (W) × 1735 mm (H), with a 2920 mm wheelbase — length increased by 10 mm versus the current model. The rear end refines taillight details, relocates the license plate holder to the tailgate, and offers an optional factory-fitted electric tow hitch (max. towing capacity: 1500 kg).
Inside, the steering wheel ditches its top-mounted small screen in favor of a new design; HVAC vents, center console layout, and physical door handle integration are all re-engineered; metal trim accents appear on the steering wheel, shift paddles, and speakers, complemented by a new ambient lighting system — collectively elevating perceived quality. Official images show a front passenger seat with a 'boss button' enabling large-angle recline; rear seats offer adjustable backrest angles and feature a segmented panoramic sunroof with manual sunshade — a configuration widely seen in the industry as potential groundwork for a rear-seat entertainment screen, though no official confirmation has been made.

Powertrain & Chassis: Steady Progression
The powertrain retains its extended-range architecture, continuing with the L2E15M 1.5T range extender (peak output: 113 kW); front/rear dual-motor outputs remain unchanged at 130 kW / 170 kW respectively; top speed rises from 180 km/h to 200 km/h. The chassis keeps its front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension setup, retaining CDC adaptive dampers; air suspension and 800V active suspension are not mentioned and are unlikely to be offered.
Pricing & Market Expectations
The current Li L6 retails from ¥249,800 to ¥279,800. Given multiple hardware upgrades that raise manufacturing costs, the starting price of the new model may increase. As a phenomenon-level model with nearly 400,000 cumulative deliveries, whether it can sustain leadership in the fiercely competitive ¥250,000 SUV segment hinges critically on final pricing — revealed on July 16, 2026.
