Genesis GV90 Official Images Unveiled: First Full-Size Flagship SUV Features Opposing Doors and Rotating Seats

On August 20, Genesis officially unveiled official images of its first full-size flagship SUV — the GV90. The model will launch in two variants: a standard version and the GV90 Crescent — positioned as an ultra-limited, premium selection targeting high-end customers and scenario-based cabin experiences.

The GV90's design language deeply integrates Korean aesthetics: its front fascia features a closed grille paired with a star-ring full-width dual light bar, complemented by wing-surface micro-lens array headlights; a clamshell hood and a three-dimensional double-layer rhombus-pattern chrome grille further elevate refinement. At 5,285 mm long with a 3,245 mm wheelbase, the GV90 comes standard with 24-inch forged wheels. The rear eliminates a spoiler and instead adopts surface-emitting hidden taillights plus illuminated brand lettering.

The Crescent variant adopts a four-seat configuration, offering three dual-tone exterior color + bespoke interior combinations. It debuts an independent, concealed B-pillar and opposing doors — officially dubbed the 'Crescent Arch'. The standard version retains conventional side-hinged doors and provides 16 exterior colors, spanning 19 total options including both gloss and matte finishes.

Inside, the GV90 Crescent features electrically rotating front seats: when parked, pressing a button on the door trim rotates both front seats 180 degrees to face the rear seats. Its center console houses a rising OLED display — 23.6 inches while driving, lifting 90 mm to expand to 24.6 inches when stationary, increasing visible area by ~1.7×. Traditional instrument clusters are eliminated across the lineup; instead, a standard 25-inch head-up display integrates ADAS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.

The intelligent system runs Hyundai Automotive Group's next-generation Pleos Connect platform, built on Android Automotive OS. It supports third-party app downloads via Pleos App Market and includes Gleo AI — a generative AI assistant. Remote Smart Parking Assist III (RSPA 3) works in tandem with memory reverse assist to enhance maneuverability in narrow alleys and parking scenarios.

Powertrain and chassis: the GV90 is built on the eMP platform — developed exclusively for flagship models — with dual motors delivering a combined peak output of 490 kW and 800 N·m of torque, paired with a 123.5 kWh high-voltage battery pack. It marks Hyundai Automotive Group's first application of dual electronic limited-slip differentials (E-LSD), with E-LSD fitted to both front and rear motors. It also features mono-tube, dual-valve electronically controlled suspension and an active rear-wheel steering system — enabling up to 5 degrees of rear-wheel steering angle.
