Chery Jaguar Land Rover has recently unveiled further details about the intelligent cockpit of Freelander's first all-new model — the Freelander 8 — under its revived brand. The vehicle's exterior color options were previously disclosed, and it is expected to officially launch in the second half of 2026.

Industry's Largest 46.3-Inch 8K Far-Field Display
The Freelander 8 features a cockpit centerpiece dubbed the "Panoramic Intelligent Display System," anchored by a far-field display measuring 1.2 meters wide and 46.3 inches diagonally — approximately 300mm wider than mainstream competitors. With native 8K resolution, the screen delivers four times the clarity of standard 4K displays; its peak brightness reaches 1000 nits, making it, per official claims, the industry's only large-format display solution clearly visible across all weather and lighting conditions.
Dimensions and Layout Uphold Rugged DNA
The vehicle's design language draws directly from the Concept 97 concept car. Its overall dimensions are 5118 (or 5185) mm in length, 2050 mm in width, and 1898 mm in height, with a 3040-mm wheelbase. It adopts a 2+2+2 six-seat configuration. For outdoor enthusiasts, an optional trailer-towing package is available, enabling a maximum towing capacity of 2000 kg. Trim levels are expected to include Pro, Max, and Max+ variants.
Deep Collaboration Among Huawei, CATL, and Qualcomm
The Freelander 8 is jointly developed by the Freelander brand with Huawei, CATL, and Qualcomm. All variants feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive 8397 chip — delivering roughly triple the CPU performance, nearly triple the GPU performance, and a 12-fold increase in NPU computing power over the previous-generation 8295 platform.
For intelligent driving, the HUAWEI Qiankun ADS 4.1 system comes standard across all trims and supports future over-the-air upgrades. Its sensor suite centers on a high-resolution 896-line LiDAR.
