Recently, the production-spec Cadillac XT5 PHEV has arrived at select dealership showrooms. As Cadillac's first plug-in hybrid mid-to-large SUV tailored for the Chinese market, this model is not a simple adaptation of the gasoline version; rather, it features targeted upgrades across its architecture, intelligent driving system, and energy system — and is expected to officially launch before the end of 2026.

The exterior design retains the classic language of the current XT5, featuring a shield-shaped front grille with a mesh insert and split LED headlights — delivering strong visual identity. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit provides hardware readiness for advanced intelligent driving. Side profiles adopt conventional door handles and multi-spoke alloy wheels, while gloss-black window trim enhances refinement. The rear integrates a chrome horizontal bar spanning the T-shaped taillights, adds a rear spoiler, and adopts a hidden exhaust layout — collectively reinforcing an electric and tech-forward aesthetic. Overall dimensions measure 4888/1957/1685 (1688) mm (L/W/H), with a wheelbase of 2863 mm.
In intelligent driving, the vehicle deploys the Momenta R7 world model — which goes beyond basic road and obstacle detection to model physical object properties, motion causality, and interaction potential. This enables more physically grounded trajectory prediction and evasive decision-making in complex scenarios such as rush-hour commuting, narrow-road passing, trace-reversing, and intricate parking maneuvers.

The powertrain combines a 1.5T engine with front and rear dual motors in a plug-in hybrid configuration: the engine delivers peak output of 115 kW, while the front and rear motors produce up to 160 kW and 110 kW respectively. Paired with a 35.5 kWh Ultium 5C ternary lithium battery, the vehicle achieves a WLTC all-electric range of 155 km and a combined fuel consumption of 6.05 L/100 km. The chassis features a full-terrain electric Hummingbird platform, emphasizing adaptability across diverse terrain types and dynamic responsiveness.
