Deepal G318 Worry-Free Expedition Edition Launches: HUAWEI HarmonySpace + Qiankun ADS 5 Pro Debuts

Recently, the Deepal G318 Worry-Free Expedition Edition officially debuted. As an upgraded variant of the current G318, the new model features the Huawei HUAWEI HarmonySpace HarmonySpace 5 infotainment system and Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 5 Pro, delivering a significant leap in smart vehicle experience. It is scheduled to go on sale soon, with pricing yet to be announced. Based on the current G318's price range of RMB 185,900–229,900, the new edition is expected to maintain a similar positioning.

The exterior retains its rugged off-road styling, closely mirroring the production model: a wide, blacked-out front bumper; C-shaped LED daytime running lights; 18-inch wheels (fitted with 255/65 R18 tires); and a full-size external spare tire mounted at the rear — all signature elements preserved. Dimensions measure 5125 × 2025 × 1895 mm, with a wheelbase of 2880 mm, balancing off-road capability and interior practicality.

Inside, the cabin emphasizes toughness through clean, horizontal lines. A central 14.6-inch infotainment display runs the all-new HarmonySpace 5 OS, supporting multi-device collaboration, app continuity, and continuous voice interaction. The gear selector adopts a new design, while the front cup holder area has been enlarged and now includes a dedicated smartphone storage slot. Front seats offer heating, ventilation, massage, and zero-gravity mode; their backrests feature expansion ports for connecting rear-seat PADs or other peripherals. Rear seats also support heating and ventilation, and fold nearly flat when reclined.

The intelligent driving system comes standard with HUAWEI Qiankun ADS 5 Pro, enabling high-level features including urban map-free NDA navigation assistance, campus-level navigation-assisted parking (including automatic valet parking), door-to-door 3.0 navigation, and trace-reversal — expanding assisted driving capabilities into more complex scenarios.

The powertrain is expected to carry over the existing 1.5T range-extended plug-in hybrid architecture: a 110 kW engine, a 131 kW front motor, and a 185 kW rear motor, delivering a combined system output of 316 kW. Paired with a 35.07 kWh battery pack, the CLTC all-electric range reaches up to 186 km. Ventilated rear brake discs are retained, ensuring both performance and reliability.
