Mercedes-Benz has recently released official teaser images of the new Maybach GLS, unveiling its front-end lighting design language in full for the first time. Built upon the mid-cycle refresh of the Mercedes-Benz GLS unveiled in March 2026, the new model is expected to make its global debut in late summer 2026.

The teaser images reveal an all-new illuminated front-end design system — now the most distinctive visual signature: a seamless full-width light strip surrounds the grille; tri-star emblem-shaped light elements are embedded within the headlights; and slender, sharp LED daytime running lights sit above. When lit, the entire front end delivers exceptional presence and ceremonial impact.
The central Mercedes-Benz tri-star emblem and the "Maybach" lettering beneath it both feature illumination capability — with the illuminated Maybach badge offered as an optional upgrade. Additionally, dynamic welcome projection lamps come standard, automatically casting the vehicle's exclusive emblem onto the ground when unlocking at night — elevating the luxury experience throughout entry and exit.
Reportedly, the new Maybach GLS will fully inherit the hardware and software upgrades introduced in the refreshed GLS. The cabin represents a key area of innovation: it will likely feature the MBUX Superscreen — a triple-display integrated cockpit — powered by Mercedes-Benz's latest-generation infotainment system, delivering comprehensive improvements in voice recognition, smart connectivity, and rear-seat entertainment.
Under the hood, the new model mounts a re-tuned 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Drawing from the current GLS lineup, the standard version uses a flat-plane-crank V8 producing up to 530 hp; the exclusive Maybach variant is tuned for higher output — potentially exceeding 550 hp. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission with standard all-wheel drive.
