The all-new Mercedes-Benz all-electric GLC will officially launch on July 8, 2026. Its top-tier five-seat Luminous Edition has already been unveiled with a pre-order price starting at ¥349,000. As the first mass-produced model built on Mercedes-Benz's all-new MB.EA dedicated electric architecture, the vehicle marks the formal rollout of Mercedes-Benz's mid-to-large-size all-electric passenger car strategy — and kicks off a new round of deep competition among BBA brands in China's domestic midsize all-electric SUV segment.

MB.EA Platform Debut: Comprehensive Gains in Efficiency, Space & Comfort
The all-new Mercedes-Benz all-electric GLC is the first production model to emerge from Mercedes-Benz's three dedicated EV platforms — MB.EA (for mid-to-large passenger cars), AMG.EA (high-performance), and VAN.EA (all-electric MPVs). Officially launched in 2025, the MB.EA platform prioritizes energy efficiency, interior space optimization, and premium ride quality. The vehicle achieves a maximum CLTC range of 703 km and a best-in-class energy consumption as low as 13.9 kWh/100 km. Despite its 89 kWh battery pack, the 800V high-voltage architecture combined with a two-speed transmission enables ultra-fast charging — 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes — matching performance levels seen in Audi Q6L e-tron and the all-new BMW iX3.
In terms of dimensions, the new model measures 4,933 mm in length, 1,914 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,027 mm — 107 mm longer and 50 mm longer in wheelbase than the gasoline-powered GLC L. It offers both five- and six-seat configurations. Leveraging the packaging advantages of its pure-electric platform, it delivers a 128-liter front trunk and a standard 605-liter rear cargo volume, plus a deployable underfloor storage compartment.
Luxury DNA + Localized Upgrades: Dual Breakthroughs in Intelligence & Comfort
The chassis retains Mercedes-Benz's flagship-level tuning, featuring AIRMATIC air suspension and ADS+ adaptive damping — technology shared with the S-Class — alongside high-cost hydraulic bushings and rear-wheel steering (with up to 4.5° max steering angle) for refined ride comfort and agile handling. Inside, buyers can choose between two display setups: a split-screen 'Super Display' comprising a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch central touchscreen, and a 14-inch front passenger display — or the industry-leading 39.1-inch MBUX panoramic hyperscreen, Mercedes-Benz's largest in-car display to date. The infotainment system runs MB.OS powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295 chip, supporting AR-HUD, Dolby Atmos audio with Burmester® surround sound, and the anthropomorphic voice assistant 'Xiao Ben', integrated with the Doubao AI large model.
For intelligent driving, the vehicle features Momenta's advanced driver-assistance system, enabling full-scenario urban and highway navigation assistance. A planned upgrade later this year will introduce Momenta's R7 large model, delivering end-to-end 'parking spot-to-parking spot' assisted driving. Safety features include AES lane-keeping assist and EESF emergency stop for unresponsive drivers.
Competitive Landscape Emerges: BBA Trio Each Brings Unique Strengths
Compared to rivals, the all-new BMW iX3 boasts a CLTC range of up to 900 km on its Neue Klasse platform and integrates localized large-language models; Audi Q6L e-tron stands out with dual-laser-radar hardware and Huawei's ADS intelligent driving system, now available from ¥269,800 after incentives. Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz all-electric GLC differentiates itself through superior energy efficiency, exceptional ride comfort, luxurious cabin ambiance, and generous exterior dimensions. Notably, the announced ¥349,000 price applies only to the top-tier five-seat Luminous Edition; the entry-level variant's pricing remains undisclosed.
Additionally, homegrown Chinese brands — including Tesla Model Y, Xiaomi YU7, Li i8, and AITO M7 — are mounting strong external pressure. Amid accelerating iteration and continuously improving localization capabilities across domestic EV makers, the all-new Mercedes-Benz all-electric GLC's success with premium EV SUV buyers will hinge critically on its final pricing and ability to deliver vehicles promptly upon launch.
