Mercedes-Benz has officially released the official images of the Maybach S 580 e. As Maybach's first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) flagship sedan, the model is not built on an all-new platform but rather a deep evolution of the current Maybach S Class, incorporating mature EQ PHEV technology — marking the ultra-luxury segment's formal entry into electrification.

The exterior design retains Maybach's signature restrained elegance. Its elongated silhouette and extended 3,396 mm wheelbase preserve classic proportions. The chrome vertical-slat grille frame integrates an illuminated Maybach logo; twin-star headlights feature rose-gold accents; and the Maybach emblem on the C-pillar is optionally available with backlighting. A concealed charging port on the left rear fender serves as the sole external identifier of its electrified identity — no radical EV-specific styling cues were adopted, maintaining traditional luxury language to convey prestige.
The interior continues the theme of serene opulence: Nappa leather, open-pore wood trim, and optional Mirville eco-friendly fabric coexist. The fourth-generation MBUX system debuts with the MB.OS vehicle operating system; the central hyperscreen adds dedicated interfaces for battery status, charging modes, and all-electric range. Rear First Class seats come standard with multi-directional adjustment, leg rests, heating/ventilation, and multi-stage massage — and offer optional fold-out tables and independent multimedia controls. Two cabin configurations are available: five-seat standard and four-seat premium.

The powertrain represents the core upgrade: a refined M256 Evo 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged engine pairs with a permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor integrated into the 9G-TRONIC transmission. System output totals 270 kW (engine) + 110 kW (motor), delivering combined torque of 750 N·m. The 0–100 km/h sprint takes 5.1 seconds, and 4MATIC all-wheel drive is standard across the lineup. WLTP all-electric range is approximately 100 km, with a weighted combined fuel consumption of 3 L/100 km.
For energy storage and charging, a lithium-ion battery pack is used. A standard 11 kW three-phase AC onboard charger enables full home charging in about 2 hours and 15 minutes; DC fast charging supports up to 60 kW (10–80% charge in 20 minutes). Driving modes include Electric, Hybrid, Battery Hold, and Charge Recovery — with multi-level regenerative braking. The chassis features adaptive air suspension, front double-wishbone/rear multi-link independent suspension, and a variable-ratio steering system — balancing ride refinement and low-speed agility.

According to Mercedes-Benz's official rollout plan, the Maybach S 580 e will launch in major global markets in phases, with pre-orders opening first in Europe, followed by China and Southeast Asia. Pricing and China launch timing have not yet been announced; further details await official confirmation.
