On July 6, Chinese new-energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer Leapmotor officially entered the Mexican market, leveraging Stellantis' local sales and service network for operations. This move marks a pivotal step in Leapmotor's North American expansion — and its third overseas market launch through Stellantis' global distribution channels, following entries into Europe and South America.

The first model launched in Mexico is the all-electric crossover B10, which Leapmotor describes as "the starting point for entering the North American market." Built in China and imported as a complete vehicle, the B10 has completed localization validation at Stellantis' Mexican Technical Center and is now available at over 40 major urban dealer locations nationwide.
According to official disclosures, Leapmotor plans to introduce two additional models to Mexico: the C10 — a slightly smaller all-electric crossover than the B10 — and the six-seat all-electric SUV C16. All three models belong to Leapmotor's core electric product lineup; however, the original text does not specify whether they are battery-electric or extended-range vehicles, nor does it provide concrete figures for range, battery capacity, or powertrain specifications.
Founded in Hangzhou in 2015, Leapmotor built its reputation on high cost performance electric vehicles. In 2023, Stellantis acquired a 21% stake, becoming Leapmotor's largest single shareholder. Since then, integration has accelerated: Stellantis incorporated Leapmotor into its global distribution system and launched import sales in Europe in 2024; followed by a South American market entry in November 2025; a planned European production partnership at Stellantis' Spanish plant announced in May 2026; and last month's activation of a Malaysia-based remanufacturing facility for local assembly using knock-down (KD) kits.
Data shows Leapmotor has consistently ranked as "China's top-selling NEV startup" since 2025. Its global deliveries reached approximately 600,000 units in 2025 — a year-on-year increase of over 100%. In the first half of 2026, global sales hit 356,000 units, surging 61% YoY. According to the China Passenger Car Association, Leapmotor exported nearly 100,000 units in the first six months of 2026 — matching its total 2025 export volume.
