On August 1, leading Chinese new-energy vehicle (NEV) brands released their July 2026 sales figures. Against a backdrop of steady overall market growth, several new-energy startups and NEV sub-brands from traditional automakers posted explosive growth — Leapmotor delivered 101,267 units globally in July, entering the "100,000-unit monthly delivery club" for the first time, up 102% year-on-year; Geely, Zeekr, BYD, and others all posted over 100% year-on-year growth, underscoring accelerating momentum in niche segments.

Leapmotor achieved a key milestone in July: the all-new compact SUV D19 surpassed 10,000 units in its first full month of sales; deliveries of the D99 model also commenced; the C-series has surpassed 850,000 cumulative global sales, while the B-series exceeds 250,000 units. The company announced that its Technology Day will be held in September, likely spotlighting advances in intelligent driving and full-stack in-house R&D.
Other top-tier brands also delivered strong results: Zeekr delivered 35,837 units in July, up 111% year-on-year, and launched its five-seat flagship model ZEEKR 9X at month-end, priced between ¥471,900 and ¥585,900; BYD delivered 23,517 units, surging 150.45% year-on-year; Geely's Lynk & Co FireflyFirefly delivered 5,771 units, up 143.9%. NIO delivered 45,046 units in July, with the AITO M9 achieving over 20,000 deliveries within just seven weeks of launch, and the Luxceed V9 surpassing 10,000 units in its first full month of deliveries.

The BYD "Dynasty" series retained its dominant scale advantage: Dynasty + Ocean Network combined sales totaled 350,178 units; FANG CHENG BAO sold 41,213 units; DENZA sold 19,196 units; Yang Wang sold 485 units. Geely Galaxy sold 107,797 units (+13%); Xingyuan sold 55,105 units; Changan Nevo achieved 39,841 global units, with its AQ series doubling year-on-year; Xpeng Group delivered 38,027 units (+4%); Li delivered 30,468 units; NIO brand delivered 20,008 units (+57.9%); VOYAH delivered 13,189 units (+31%); Deepal overseas sales rose 87.48% year-on-year.

Notably, several highly anticipated new models are imminent: the Leapmotor A05, BYD Qin MAX, Geely's Sealion 08, GWM H10, and Maextro V800/V680 are expected to launch densely throughout August — amplified by the Chengdu Auto Show — potentially intensifying competitive dynamics in H2. Industry analysts note that this high growth stems from concentrated product-cycle launches and differentiated intelligent-vehicle experiences, though sustainability hinges on dealer inventory levels and conversion efficiency from user sentiment to real-world adoption.
