Hyundai Automotive to Launch Over 100 New Models by 2030, First EREV in 2027

Hyundai Automotive Group is accelerating its global product offensive. At its 2026 CEO Investor Day, the group announced plans to launch more than 100 all-new or refreshed models globally by 2030 — spanning internal combustion engine, hybrid, battery electric, and extended-range electric (EREV) powertrains.

According to Hyundai Automotive CEO José Muñoz, as the world's third-largest automaker and second-most-profitable, Hyundai possesses the financial strength and manufacturing capability to sustain investment even amid industry contraction. New model rollouts will proceed regionally: 58 for North America, 49 for Korea, 41 for Europe, 26 for India, and 22 for China.

Confirmed launches include the all-new Elantra N; the IONIQ 3 — its all-electric compact SUV (now on sale in Europe this month, with a CLTC range of 497 km); the all-new Tucson and Tucson Hybrid (both launching this year); and its first extended-range electric vehicle — the Santa Fe EREV. The Santa Fe EREV is scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. in the first half of 2027 and will be produced at Hyundai's Alabama plant.

The Santa Fe EREV will deliver over 600 miles (≈965 km) of combined range using an EREV architecture where the battery powers the wheels exclusively and the gasoline engine serves solely as a generator — balancing pure EV driving dynamics with stress-free long-distance capability. It will feature Hyundai's next-generation high-nickel battery cells, delivering over double the output power of previous generations and cutting charging time by 40%. Meanwhile, a cost-optimized mid-nickel NCM battery will debut in 2027 alongside other new EVs, targeting roughly a 30% reduction in battery costs.

In the premium segment, Genesis plans to expand globally around its flagship GV90, aiming for presence in over 40 countries and annual sales of 350,000 units by 2030. After entering Italy, France, the Netherlands, Tunisia, and Morocco this year, Genesis will launch in Spain by end-2026 and plans further expansion into India and the Asia-Pacific region. Concurrently, Hyundai will add 1.27 million units of global production capacity by 2030 — including 500,000 units in North America, 320,000 in India, 200,000 in Korea, and 250,000 via CKD assembly.
