Hima G9 Officially Launched: Intelligent Luxury Box-Shape SUV from ¥429,800

On August 20, Hima officially launched its all-new full-size SUV — the Hima G9 — offering 10 variants priced between ¥429,800 and ¥549,800. As the first intelligent luxury, rugged-style SUV in the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance ecosystem, the G9 adopts a distinctive box-shaped design, integrating BAIC Off-Road's technical expertise with Huawei's core intelligent technologies to serve dual scenarios: urban commuting and weekend getaways.

Exterior styling breaks away from Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance's existing family design language, featuring vertical headlamp clusters with circular or semi-circular lamp housings for high visual recognition; the intelligent driving 'blue indicator light' is seamlessly integrated using circular motifs. Five exterior colors are available: Obsidian Black, Polar Gray, Ink Ridge Green, Wilderness Gold, and Cosmos Red. A Black Gloss Package is optional for Obsidian Black, Ink Ridge Green, and Cosmos Red. Wheel options are limited to two variants: 20-inch Seven-Balance Starry or 22-inch Six-Point Star Radiant alloys. Details such as L-shaped chrome trim on the D-pillar, stargazing door handles, electric running boards, and side-mounted welcome light strips elevate premium appeal. The rear retains vertical taillights, while an externally mounted spare tire and side-hinged tailgate further emphasize its off-road character. Dimensions measure 5,377 × 2,050 × 1,897 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm — surpassing Yangwang U8 in overall size.

The vehicle achieves a 23° approach angle, 26° departure angle, and maximum wading depth of 900 mm. Factory-rated towing capacity stands at 2,000 kg. The Roof Tent Edition supports single-side roof elevation to form a double-layer tent structure, offering 2,260 L interior volume and a maximum load capacity of 260 kg. When the tailgate opens sideways, it extends into a multifunctional tabletop supporting hot cooking, hot beverages, and water dispensing.

The interior features a triple-screen setup: a 12.3-inch full-digital instrument cluster, a 17.2-inch central infotainment display, and a 17.2-inch front passenger entertainment screen — all powered by the latest HUAWEI HarmonySpace OS, enabling multi-device connectivity and app ecosystem expansion. Physical controls and a variable-damping central rotary knob manage chassis, cabin, and outdoor expansion functions. Seating layouts include 2+3 five-seat and 2+2+2 six-seat configurations. Front-row seats come standard with dual zero-gravity seats (driver and front passenger), featuring fascia-gun-style massage. In the six-seat variant, second-row seats are independent aviation-grade units with ventilation, heating, multi-level massage, and power-adjustable leg rests. Additional features include a forest-grade onboard oxygen generation system, vehicle refrigerator, 17-inch rear entertainment screen, privacy light curtain, and built-in intercom system.

Powertrain options include battery-electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, both built on Huawei's Whale 800V high-voltage platform and equipped with a front-rear dual-motor AWD system: front motor peak output 160 kW, rear motor peak output 277 kW, system total output up to 437 kW — delivering sub-4-second 0–100 km/h acceleration. The BEV version uses a 120 kWh ternary lithium battery, delivering CLTC all-electric ranges of 701 km or 728 km. The EREV version pairs a 1.5T range extender (compatible with 92-octane gasoline) with either a 56 kWh or 75.4 kWh battery pack, offering 405 km CLTC pure-electric range and combined ranges of 1,271 km or 1,366 km respectively.

The chassis employs a front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension. Optional upgrades include dual-chamber air suspension and dual-valve continuously variable damping shock absorbers, enabling ±130 mm ride height adjustment. A ±12° rear-wheel steering system is also available. For off-road capability, the G9 adopts a unibody structure reinforced with an embedded heavy-duty frame, paired with Huawei's Zhiying adaptive mechanical rear differential lock (featuring a dog-clutch-type mechanical differential lock), Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance's full-terrain system (including Snow, Mud, Sand, and other modes), and an 800V fully active disconnectable stabilizer bar.

Notably, the Hima G9 secured 15,000 pre-orders within 72 hours of its reservation launch. Key competitors include FANG CHENG BAOLeopard 8, TANK 700, and other rugged SUVs, as well as flagship urban-oriented 9-series SUVs. Industry observers suggest that the G9's real-world impact in the premium new-energy SUV market will hinge on its ability to convert pre-orders into firm deliveries, maintain consistent production rhythm, and earn strong end-user (reputation).
