BYD's newest flagship all-electric sedan, the Dahan, has been filmed for the first time during public road testing, revealing its full appearance. Positioned as the D-class flagship of the Dynasty series, the model is a sedan twin to the previously released flagship Datan SUV. The official premiere is expected to take place at the Chengdu International Auto Show from August 21 to 30, 2026.

According to Lu Tian, ​​General Manager of BYD's Dynasty Series , the model has already been registered as part of the latest batch of new energy vehicles under the MIIT's "Announcement on Road Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," confirming a maximum range of 1,008 km on the CLTC cycle. Specific battery specifications have not yet been disclosed, but it has been officially confirmed that the vehicle will be equipped with the new-generation Blade Battery 2.0 and fast-charging technology.

The battery system reportedly supports ultra-fast charging at up to 1,500 kW: charging from 10% to 70% takes just 5 minutes, and a full charge from 10% to 97% takes just 9 minutes. The car's dimensions are 5,256 x 1,999 x 1,510 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, making it larger than the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air and similar in size to the long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes Benz S Class.

Regarding the powertrain, the vehicle will be available in two variants: with a single rear electric motor and with two motors (all-wheel drive). The single-motor version produces a maximum output of 370 kW (496 hp), while the all-wheel drive version with two motors produces a combined maximum output of 570 kW (764 hp). Notably, the Dahan belongs to the same flagship line as the Datan SUV, which has already been available for pre-order, having received over 100,000 orders since its launch at the Beijing exhibition ; the starting price for pre-orders is 250,000 yuan.

Lu Tian posted several official images on social media and noted, "More surprises will be announced at the Chengdu Auto Show." The official price and market launch date have not yet been announced; the model's market position and pricing strategy will be revealed later.
