BYD's all-new flagship pure-electric sedan — the 'Da Han' — has been spotted publicly for the first time during road testing, with its full exterior design now revealed. Positioned as a D-segment flagship sedan within BYD's Dynasty series, it serves as the sedan counterpart to the flagship SUV 'Datang', and is scheduled to make its official global debut at the Chengdu International Motor Show from August 21–30, 2026.

According to Lu Tian, General Manager of BYD's Dynasty Series, the vehicle has already passed the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) 'Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products' for new-energy models, confirming a maximum CLTC-rated range of up to 1,008 km. While specific battery parameters remain undisclosed, BYD officially confirmed the sedan will be equipped with BYD's next-generation Blade Battery 2.0 and fast charging technology.
The battery system supports ultra-fast charging at up to 1,500 kW — enabling a charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, and from 10% to 97% in only nine minutes. Its dimensions measure 5,256 mm × 1,999 mm × 1,510 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm — surpassing both the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air, and approaching the length of the long-wheelbase Mercedes Benz S Class.
Powertrain options include a single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup: the RWD version delivers a peak power output of 370 kW (496 hp), while the AWD variant achieves a combined peak output of 570 kW (764 hp). Notably, the 'Da Han' shares the same flagship positioning as the already pre-order-open Datang SUV — which garnered over 100,000 pre-orders after launching reservations at the Beijing Motor Show, with a starting pre-order price of RMB 250,000.
Lu Tian shared multiple official images on social media, stating: "More surprises await at the Chengdu Motor Show." No official pricing or launch timeline has yet been announced, and its market positioning and pricing strategy remain subject to further updates.
