Xiaomi Skynomad Series Pre-orders May Surpass 100,000 Units; N90/N70 Extended-Range SUVs Emerge as New Highlights

The all-new Xiaomi Skynomad series launched pre-sales last week. According to recent on-site surveys and interviews by Caixin Global across Beijing, Wuhan, Shanghai, and Chengdu flagship stores, pre-order volume for the series is expected to exceed 100,000 units.

Built on Xiaomi's in-house "Kunlun" technology architecture, the Skynomad series adopts an extended-range electric (EREV) powertrain and comprises two large SUVs: the seven-seat Flagship N90 and the five-seat core model N70. Pre-sales began on July 30, with pre-order prices set at ¥299,900 and ¥259,900 respectively; official market launch is scheduled for September.

Per Caixin Global's report, foot traffic surged notably at Beijing stores, with over 300 intent-to-purchase deposits recorded at a single flagship store — N90 emerging as the top consumer choice. In the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, cumulative pre-orders reportedly surpassed 30,000 units, including 4,800 deposits placed solely on August 2 in Beijing. With 499 Xiaomi automotive stores nationwide — and average per-store deposits estimated between 200 and 300 units — the overall pre-order volume is poised to exceed 100,000 units.

To align with product positioning, Xiaomi has adopted a differentiated sales strategy: hybrid sales models are deployed in select cities, while dedicated Skynomad experience centers have opened in key markets such as Wuhan. Frontline sales staff report that the N70 is explicitly positioned to compete with L7.

On production capacity, the Skynomad series has entered mass production at Xiaomi's Beijing Phase II manufacturing base. Sales representatives stated the company aims to avoid the prolonged delivery timelines experienced during the YU7 launch, targeting stable supply post-September launch — with customers potentially receiving their vehicles before year-end.

The market performance of the Skynomad series is critical to Xiaomi achieving its 2026 annual delivery target of 550,000 units. From January to July this year, Xiaomi delivered approximately 220,000 vehicles, with SU7 and YU7 battery-electric models averaging around 30,000 deliveries per month. To meet the full-year goal, monthly deliveries must rise to roughly 45,000 units over the remaining four months.
