Xiaomi Pengcheng N70/N90 Launch Tomorrow! Dual Extended-Range SUVs Debut

Xiaomi Auto will officially launch its all-new extended-range mid-to-large SUVs — the Pengcheng N70 and N90 — tomorrow at 7 p.m. The event has drawn widespread attention, with Xiaomi already rolling out outdoor advertisements across multiple cities featuring the bold tagline "Extended-Range Vehicles Have Great Potential," signaling its strong confidence in the extended-range powertrain strategy.

According to official previews and multiple sources, three variants will debut: the Pengcheng N70 Pro, N70 Max, and N90 Max. Pre-order prices for the N70 Max and N90 Max have already been revealed — RMB 259,900 and RMB 299,900 respectively. Note that these are preliminary figures; final pricing will be announced during the launch event.

The Pengcheng N70 is positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, with dimensions of 4960 × 1998 × 1765 mm and a wheelbase of 2950 mm. It features a 1.5T engine-based range extender system, offered in both single-motor and dual-motor configurations: the single-motor version delivers a peak power of 210 kW; the dual-motor version pairs front and rear motors rated at 210 kW and 100 kW respectively, achieving a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 5.5 seconds. Two battery options are available — 52 kWh and 76 kWh — with the N70 Max delivering up to 505 km of CLTC all-electric range and a total combined range of 1461 km.

The Pengcheng N90 steps up further as a full-size SUV, measuring 5285 × 1998 × 1825 mm with a 3080-mm wheelbase. It adopts the same 1.5T range extender plus dual-motor architecture: the range extender outputs up to 112 kW, while front and rear motors deliver 210 kW and 100 kW respectively, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 5.9 seconds. A standard 76-kWh battery pack delivers 464 km of CLTC all-electric range and supports fast charging — adding up to 285 km of range in just 15 minutes. Equipped with a 60-L fuel tank compatible with 92-, 95-, and 98-octane gasoline, the N90 achieves a maximum CLTC combined range of 1705 km and a WLTC fuel consumption of 6.26 L/100 km in charge-sustaining mode.

While current published powertrain specs show no revolutionary breakthroughs, Xiaomi highlights the introduction of "all-new extended-range black tech." Industry observers widely expect the focus to lie in software-level optimizations — such as energy management efficiency, heat-pump coordination control, or intelligent generator logic. How exactly Xiaomi defines "extended-range vehicles having great potential" may become clear during tomorrow's launch.
