Recently, smart officially unveiled the official images and select specifications of the 2026 model of the smart #1. As a mid-cycle refresh of the current model, the vehicle retains its exterior design largely unchanged, but features significant upgrades to its electronic and electrical architecture — reportedly including an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, the G-ASD H5 intelligent driving system, and the Flyme Auto infotainment system.

Exterior styling remains consistent with the current generation: full-width LED daytime running lights connect seamlessly with triangular headlamp units; the front bumper retains large cooling intakes and outward-angled air ducts, reinforcing its sporty character. Notably, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor has been added to support advanced driver-assistance functions; additional cameras are mounted on the front fenders, complementing frameless door handles (compliant with China's national standards) to enhance overall vehicle intelligence and recognition capabilities. Dimensions remain unchanged — length, width, and height measure 4,270 mm × 1,822 mm × 1,636 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

In terms of intelligent cockpit features, the new model is equipped with a 15.4-inch 2.5K ultra-high-definition central touchscreen powered by a 4nm-process intelligent cockpit chip and deeply integrated with the Flyme Auto system, supporting AI-powered voice interaction. For intelligent driving, it leverages smart's quantum-grade AI electronic and electrical architecture (EEA 4.0), featuring the NVIDIA Orin Y chip delivering up to 200 TOPS of computing power. Hardware includes 31 high-precision perception sensors — including the roof-mounted LiDAR — while software supports the G-ASD H5 system and the G-ASD 4.0 model, reportedly enabling full-scenario automatic parking.

Powertrain and range: Built on the 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, the vehicle pairs with a high-performance 16-in-1 electric drive system. According to prior MIIT regulatory filings, the rear-mounted motor delivers peak output of 245 kW, paired with a 61.52 kWh battery pack, achieving a CLTC all-electric range of 535 km. It supports 6C fast charging — charging from 10% to 80% state of charge (SOC) in just 12 minutes. Pricing and launch timing have yet to be announced; further official details are expected soon.
