MG 07 Debuts at 2026 Chengdu Auto Show: BEV and PHEV Options, Starting at RMB 105,900 After Subsidy

On August 21, the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show officially opened. The MG brand announced the official launch of its all-new midsize sedan — the MG 07 — offering seven trim levels. The official manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) ranges from RMB 108,900 to RMB 159,900, while the limited-time subsidized price ranges from RMB 105,900 to RMB 156,900.

According to official information, deliveries for the BEV 650 variant are scheduled to begin by late August, while the BEV 845 variant is slated for delivery in October. Buyers also receive three exclusive benefits: Peace-of-Mind Senova Zhixing Gift, Zero-Thermal-Runaway Safety Gift, and Lifetime Warranty Gift — plus a 5-year financing plan with 2 years interest-free.

In terms of core specifications, the MG 07 offers both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrains. The BEV variants are built on an 800V high-voltage architecture and feature permanent-magnet synchronous front motors, delivering maximum outputs of 176 kW and 235 kW, with peak torque of 300 N·m and 350 N·m respectively. Battery options include 67 kWh and 91 kWh units, enabling CLTC all-electric ranges of 650 km, 610 km, and 845 km — where the 650 km and 610 km versions use QingTao Energy semi-solid-state batteries, and the 845 km version uses a CATL ternary lithium-ion battery.

The PHEV variant pairs a 1.5L engine (max power: 82 kW) with a drive motor (max power: 152 kW), delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 245 km, a CLTC fuel consumption of 2.91 L/100 km in hybrid mode, and a combined full-tank/full-charge range of 1,745 km. Its battery pack is a CATL (CATL SAIC Motor) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit.

For intelligent driving, top trims feature LiDAR sensors and leverage Momenta's R7 Reinforced World Model alongside the proprietary X7 large-model AI chip. The cockpit integrates the Qualcomm 8295P chip and Inspire OS, with a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen, electrochromic panoramic sunroof, zero-gravity 'Queen Seat' for the front passenger, rear-seat ventilation and heating, a 21-speaker premium audio system, and a multifunctional makeup vanity. Dimensions measure 4,886 mm × 1,900 mm × 1,478 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. Exterior colors include Morello Purple, Nottingham Gray, and Oxford Blue — six total — while interior themes include White Violet and Royal Blue.

In the market, the MG 07 will directly compete with models such as the Arcfox Alpha S5 and Mazda EZ-6 in the midsize NEV sedan segment, and strategically challenge mainstream ICE sedans — including the HondaCIVIC and NissanSylphy — through pricing differentiation. Amid intensifying competition in China's midsize NEV sedan space, its dual-powertrain strategy, democratized high-end ADAS features, and distinctive design language could help MG further strengthen its foothold among younger consumers.
