Jetta M6 Added to NEV Purchase Tax Exemption List, Dual CLTC Range Versions (465 km / 555 km) Coming for Pure-Electric Midsize Sedan

Recently, the List of New Energy Vehicles Eligible for Vehicle Purchase Tax Exemption (33rd Batch), released by MIIT, included the JettaM6 for the first time. As the first pure-electric model under the Jetta brand, the M6 is positioned as a pure-electric midsize sedan developed on the in-house Jiesi Architecture and dedicated EV platform. It is scheduled to officially launch and begin customer deliveries in the second half of 2026.

According to the official list, the JettaM6 will be offered in two variants with CLTC all-electric ranges of 465 km and 555 km, respectively, with batteries supplied by CALB. Its powertrain features a front-mounted single motor, delivering maximum outputs of 113 kW and 145 kW — these two power ratings correspond to the two range configurations, though the official matching details remain unconfirmed and await further clarification from the automaker.

Exterior design introduces a fresh language: L-shaped daytime running lights incorporate a 'tear-drop' accent, enhancing front-end distinctiveness; overall dimensions are 4806 mm (L) × 1895 mm (W, or 1868 mm) × 1500 mm (H), with a wheelbase of 2820 mm; 17-inch and 18-inch wheel options are available; the charging port is located on the passenger-side fender; the rear features a full-width taillight bar and centrally embedded Jetta lettering, plus a new NEV-specific badge.

Inside, the cabin adopts a two-tone color scheme, equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster and a floating central touchscreen, complemented by concealed ambient lighting to elevate warmth and layering; the steering wheel uses a two-spoke design paired with a column-mounted shifter; a wireless phone charging pad is integrated into the lower center console; front seatbacks offer wide recline angles and fold flat to connect seamlessly with the rear seats, creating a completely level load floor; a panoramic sunroof is standard.
