Chery Fulwin A9 All-Electric Sedan Secures 18,000 Orders in 72 Hours

The all-new mid-size all-electric sedan from Chery — the Fulwin A9 — secured 18,173 pre-orders ("locked-in" orders) within just 72 hours of its global debut on July 9. Li Xueyong, Executive Vice President of Chery Automobile, officially announced this figure on July 13, 2026. Positioned as a mid-size electric sedan, the Fulwin A9 is offered in both all-electric and extended-range variants — marking Chery's deeper push into the new-energy mid-size sedan segment.

The vehicle measures 4,836 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width, and 1,489 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm and an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.223. Its body comes in seven exclusive color options — including Begonia Red and Mountain Mist Purple — finished with multi-layer high-gloss paint for enhanced visual depth and premium appeal.

The all-electric variant features a 178 kW rear-mounted motor (239 hp), paired with a 70.11 kWh 'Rhino E' lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 655 km. Its official pre-order price range is ¥115,900–¥135,900 (approx. $17,100–$20,050), covering three trims: Pro, Max, and Max LiDAR — all offering identical 655 km CLTC range.

The extended-range version uses a dedicated 1.5L engine as a range extender, coupled with a purpose-built battery pack. Its WLTC all-electric range is rated at 116 km or 175 km, with a combined fuel consumption as low as 1.01 L/100 km and a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 6.9 seconds. The chassis adopts a front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension setup, with high-end trims featuring adjustable CDC electromagnetic dampers.

The cabin features a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen powered by the 3nm-based 8678 cockpit chip. Its voice assistant runs a localized AI model with 1.3 billion parameters, enabling wake-word-free continuous interaction. Standard equipment across all trims includes a 23-speaker Boya audio system (1,080 W total output), panoramic sunroof, and in-vehicle refrigerator with heating and cooling functions.

For intelligent driving, the Fulwin A9 integrates the Falcon ADAS, equipped with 27 sensors: one high-precision LiDAR, three millimeter-wave radars, eleven cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors — all processed by a dedicated high-performance domain controller. To reinforce battery safety, Chery has introduced its corporate "whole-vehicle replacement in case of thermal runaway" guarantee policy.

Notably, during early development, the Fulwin A9 underwent extreme cold-weather testing in an aggressive fastback coupe configuration. Meanwhile, the Fulwin A9 Shooting Brake variant — unveiled concurrently at the Beijing Auto Show — demonstrates the platform's flexibility across multiple body styles and supports 800V high-voltage fast charging. Currently, Chery is intensifying its electrified product rollout to strengthen its EV portfolio: according to China EV DataTracker, its domestic sales volume reached 37,686 units in June 2026 — up 18.7% month-on-month but down 26.7% year-on-year, maintaining a market share of 2.3%.
