BYD Qin Max Interior Revealed: Midsize Sedan with Fast Charging

BYD recently unveiled official interior images of the Qin Max, a new midsize sedan expected to launch on August 13, 2026, with display units anticipated to arrive at dealerships by late July.

The exterior retains BYD's Dynasty series design language: the front features a full-width chrome accent bar connecting the LED headlights, paired with a three-section air intake grille; the rear draws inspiration from the 'Chinese knot' motif, using a full-width LED taillight with smoked finish and multi-layer light-pattern structure to enhance visual distinctiveness. Dimensions measure 4,866 mm × 1,880 mm × 1,495 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.

The cabin adopts an enveloping layout, enhanced with chrome trim for refined appeal. Standard equipment includes a fully digital instrument cluster, a floating central infotainment screen, and a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel; the center console integrates a wireless phone charger and dual cupholders. A new 'Dawn Purple' interior color option expands customer choice.

Powertrain options include plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants. The PHEV version pairs a 1.5L engine with an electric motor — engine output peaks at 74 kW, while the drive motor delivers up to 175 kW (235 hp), matched with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The BEV version offers two single-motor configurations: maximum outputs of 120 kW (161 hp) and 240 kW (322 hp), with battery capacities of 52.868 kWh and 64.315 kWh respectively, delivering CLTC all-electric ranges of 530 km and 630 km.

Notably, the Qin Max will feature BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and fast charging technology — claimed to recharge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, and from 10% to 97% in only 9 minutes; even under extreme cold conditions down to -30°C, charging time extension remains within 3 minutes.

According to dealer-channel information, pre-order pricing is as follows: four PHEV trims priced between ¥115,000 and ¥145,000; five BEV trims priced between ¥125,000 and ¥155,000.
