Recently, the FAW-Volkswagen ID. AURA T6 has officially been added to the List of New Energy Vehicles Eligible for Vehicle Purchase Tax Exemption (33rd batch), confirming that the model meets national new energy vehicle admission requirements and clearing a key policy pathway ahead of its market launch. Positioned as a pure-electric midsize SUV with five seats, the vehicle is now accepting blind bookings for RMB 99 — redeemable against RMB 2,000 of the final purchase price.

According to the official list, the ID. AURA T6 will be offered with two battery options: 59.9 kWh and 77.5 kWh, delivering CLTC all-electric ranges of 540 km and 660 km, respectively. Its powertrain features a single electric motor producing a maximum output of 170 kW; torque specifications have not yet been disclosed. Built on Volkswagen's all-new CEA (Centralized Electronic Architecture), the vehicle adopts a 'centralized computing + zone-based control' approach, laying the foundation for advanced intelligent driving capabilities.
For intelligent driving, the ID. AURA T6 integrates an ADAS solution developed by CoreDrive — a joint venture between Volkswagen Automotive Group and Horizon Robotics. The high-spec variant is equipped with a roof-mounted laser radar, plus additional perception hardware mounted on the fenders and rear bumper to enhance overall sensing coverage. It supports both highway and urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot). The intelligent cockpit features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen, and a 25.8-inch AR-HUD. It's powered by a 4-nm process intelligent cockpit chip (approx. 20 TOPS computing power), including a dedicated AI Agent processing module. Functions supported include over-the-air (OTA) updates, Sentry Mode, Farizon remote vehicle control, and smart entry. The system comes preloaded with more than 23 mainstream apps and supports wireless CarPlay, HiCar, and Carlink smartphone connectivity.
Design-wise, the ID. AURA T6 sports a closed-off front fascia complemented by rounded matrix-style square LED headlights, a full-width star-ring lighting strip, and an illuminated brand logo. A laser radar is integrated into the roof, while intelligent-driving indicator lights (in blue) are embedded in the side mirrors. Its dimensions measure 4,811 × 1,879 × 1,648 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,836 mm. Wheel options include 19- and 20-inch alloys. The rear features a full-width taillight echoing the front design, with select trims featuring blacked-out badging. Inside, the cabin adopts an upper-and-lower two-tone minimalist aesthetic, with a glossy center console surface and zero physical buttons. It includes a 18-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system and a premium "Queen Seat" passenger seat with massage functionality.
