The highly anticipated all-new Hyundai Elantra N will officially launch pre-orders at the 2026 Chengdu International Automobile Exhibition on August 21. Developed primarily by the BeijingHyundai joint venture, this high-performance sports sedan is exclusively designed for the Chinese market and has no plans for overseas export.

As a key strategic model for BeijingHyundai in China, the Elantra N inherits the aggressive, performance-oriented DNA of the N series. Its exterior features a low-slung, wide-body design with an integrated aerodynamic profile merging the hood and windshield. Eight exterior color options are available: gold, purple, green, gray, white, silver, and black.
The vehicle measures 4900 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm — striking a balance between dynamic handling and practical interior space.
The interior features a 27-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen combo, plus head-up display functionality. Powertrain options include two output calibrations: maximum power of 58 kW and 85 kW, and peak torque of 130 N·m and 150 N·m — though official pairing details remain undisclosed. The battery capacity, all-electric range, or plug-in hybrid system specifications have not been confirmed, nor has the adoption of an 800V architecture or EVCU-related technologies.
Notably, BeijingHyundai's sales performance in China is currently under pressure. According to China EV DataTracker, its July 2026 deliveries totaled just 6,610 units — a 46.8% year-on-year decline. Industry analysts suggest the Elantra N aims to reinforce the brand's sporty identity and differentiate itself from popular domestic rivals such as Xpeng MONA M03 and MG 07 — but its final pricing strategy and market reception remain to be seen.
