BYD Ti7 PHEV Upgraded with 50 kWh Battery, 230 km All-Electric Range

Long-Range MIIT Variant Spotted in Official Filings; May Support 9-Minute Fast Charging

The all-new plug-in hybrid SUV from BYD — the FANGCHENGBAO Ti7 (BYD Ti7) — has received a major upgrade in the domestic market. According to the latest vehicle registration filings with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), a new long-range variant will debut with a 50 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering up to 230 km of all-electric range under WLTC conditions.

Currently available FANGCHENGBAO Ti7 PHEV models offer two battery options: an entry-level version with a 26.6 kWh pack (105 km WLTC all-electric range), and a higher-spec variant with a 35.6 kWh pack (140 km WLTC all-electric range). The newly filed 50 kWh version is produced by FinDreams Battery, a subsidiary of BYD. Its full battery pack weighs 384 kg — 164 kg heavier than the entry-level unit. Vehicle curb weight varies between 2,350–2,530 kg depending on drivetrain configuration.

The long-range model retains its 1.5-liter engine, rated at a maximum output of 115 kW (154 hp), paired with a single-motor system delivering a combined motor output of 200 kW (268 hp); its fuel consumption in charge-sustaining mode is 5.98 L/100 km. The all-wheel-drive variant adopts a dual-motor layout, achieving a peak system output of 360 kW (483 hp), with a WLTC all-electric range of 210 km and a charge-sustaining fuel consumption of 6.3 L/100 km.

Notably, reports suggest the 50 kWh version may support fast charging technology — theoretically capable of charging from 10% to 97% state of charge in just nine minutes. However, whether this feature will be included in production units — and details such as charging power rating and compatibility — remain unconfirmed.

The FANGCHENGBAO Ti7 is positioned as a mid-to-large-size, five-seat SUV, measuring 4,999 × 1,995 × 1,865 mm with a 2,920 mm wheelbase and a 2,000 kg towing capacity. In addition to PHEV variants, it also offers fully electric versions equipped with either a 92 kWh or 105.7 kWh battery pack, delivering CLTC ranges of 675 km and 755 km respectively. Its current price range in China stands at RMB 179,800–239,800.

According to China EV DataTracker, the FANGCHENGBAO Ti7 has sold 94,417 units in China so far this year, ranking among the country's top-selling locally developed models — despite some user feedback regarding its panoramic glass roof.
