On July 28, AION officially announced the launch of its all-new product series — Ray — targeting young users, marking the brand's 10th anniversary. Simultaneously, it released preview images of the series' debut model, named Ray 7. The vehicle remains in pre-launch phase: pricing, launch timing, and full technical specifications have yet to be disclosed; only conceptual preview imagery is available.
The preview images reveal Ray 7's fresh design language: a front fascia featuring a star-ring full-width lighting strip, with the refreshed AION English logo "AION" centered within it — the side lighting elements seamlessly integrated for enhanced tech appeal and brand recognition. Along the profile, subtly flared front and rear fenders pair with distinctive alloy wheels and bright yellow brake calipers to reinforce sporty character. The rear adopts a full-width taillight design, with the AION logo centrally mounted — echoing the front-end styling. Officially confirmed, the car measures approximately 5 meters in length, positioning it as a mid-to-large sedan expected to deliver generous cabin space.
In terms of intelligent and electric features, AION states Ray 7 will be the first model to adopt a super chassis architecture integrating chip-level drive and control fusion, powered by a CATL battery. Its intelligent driving system will feature LiDAR sensors and algorithms derived from L4-level autonomous driving technology — though specific functional levels, compute platforms, and end-to-end large model deployment details remain unconfirmed. Additionally, AION emphasizes that its intelligent driving assistance system will debut on models priced at RMB 150,000 or lower, with plans to extend the L4-derived algorithm across the RMB 100,000–150,000 price bracket.
As part of its service upgrade, AION reaffirmed its mass-produced 'Fireproof Battery' safety technology — deployed in over 1.5 million vehicles — with cumulative safe mileage exceeding 160 billion kilometers. Furthermore, the brand introduced the industry's first 'Triple Accountability' pledge: direct manufacturer responsibility for three specific issues — spontaneous combustion of the powertrain (battery, motor, controller), battery capacity degradation beyond specified limits, and accidents occurring during automated parking. Applicable scope and detailed terms have not yet been publicly clarified.
